System Of A Down vs. Anita Ward
DJ Lobsterdust Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The night is young
And full of possibilities
Well, come on and let yourself be free, yeah
My love for you (love for you, love for you)
So long I′ve been savin'
Tonight was made for me and you
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ding-dong-ding)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ring-a-ring-a-ring)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ding-dong-ding)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ring-a-ring-a-ring)
You can ring my bell
You can ring my bell
(Ding, dong, ding, ah-ah, ring it)
You can ring my bell, anytime, anywhere
(Ring it, ring it, ring it, ring it, ow)
You can ring my bell, you can ring my bell
(Ding, dong, ding, ah-ah, ring it)
You can ring my bell, anytime, anywhere
(Ring it, ring it, ring it, ring it, ow)
Bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ding-dong-ding)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ring-a-ring-a-ring)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell

(Ring my bell, ding-dong-ding)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to DJ Lobsterdust's song System Of A Down vs. Anita Ward are a mix of both artists' songs. The first few lines, "The night is young and full of possibilities, well, come on and let yourself be free, yeah" seems to be a continuation of the message in System of A Down's "Toxicity" which talks about the toxicity of society and the need to self-reflect in order to overcome it.

However, the lyrics quickly switch to Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell" which is a disco anthem from the late 70s. The lyrics in this part of the song are about love and lust, as the singer tells her lover that she has been saving herself for him and that tonight is the night for them to be together. The chorus, "You can ring my bell, ring my bell" is a reference to her phone and how she wants him to call her and come over.

Overall, the mashup of these two songs seems to be about breaking free from societal pressures and indulging in love and lust. While "Toxicity" is about self-reflection, "Ring My Bell" is about giving into one's desires and having a good time.
