As a teenager his musical taste led him to the punk group Mad Coakroches.
He then turned to a more raw sound, forming Punishment Park, alongside former members of Tambours du Bronx.
At the age of 21, he decided to focus on a more acoustic style with his new band Venus Coma, having also dabbled in electronic music under the stage name of Mitsu.
Inhabitant of Rennes since 2007, he also lived for 18 months in Dinan, a town which was a great source of inspiration for him. After Dinan, Da Silva returned to Rennes where he lives in a house with its own recording studio.
With the help of Cali, for whom he was a support band, in 2005 he released the album Décembre en été ("December in Summer") from which the single " L’indécision" ("Indecision") became a hit.
In 2007, Emmanuel da Silva and Christophe Mali co-wrote a song for "Tout me revient" ("Everything comes back to me"), an album by Marina Vénache, and in the same year released his second album De beaux jours à venir ("Good times to come"), which had a much more pessimistic and sombre feel, speaking of relationship problems or simply the problems of life in general. The album, which contained the songs "De là haut parlant de la mort d'un être cher" ("From above, speaking of the death of a dear one") or even "Au moment des amours" ("At the time of love affairs"), explores difficult and melancholy subjects.
In 2008 he was credited on the eponymous album of Elsa Lunghini (music and lyrics), then in 2009 released a third album, La Tendresse des fous ("The Tenderness of Fools"), from which "Le Carnaval" ("The Carnival") was the first single. The album was recorded in the Parisian studio Labomatic Studios.
In 2009, Emmanuel da Silva also published a children's book, "Billie et les rois de la nuit" ("Billie and the kings of the night").

Rien
Da Silva Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
These lyrics, from Da Silva's song "Rien," reminisce about a beautiful past, specifically the summer nights filled with memories and desires. The singer reflects on a time when everything seemed perfect, recalling the beauty of their lover and the forbidden pleasure they shared under a trellis. Despite the passage of time, they still find themselves returning to the same window, where the light and garden remain unchanged.
The lyrics also touch upon the words spoken during those passionate moments, as well as the hopes and expectations that were built upon the foundation of their intense connection. However, the singer acknowledges that these promises made in the heat of love ultimately do not stand the test of time. Emphasizing the fleeting nature of romance, they recall the nostalgic moments of dancing under the lanterns at a ball. Every night, they revisit the same window, forever marked by the remnants of their shared past.
Da Silva's lyrics highlight the bittersweet nature of love. They emphasize the transitory essence of relationships, wherein even the most heartfelt promises can disintegrate over time. The singer's soulful delivery adds an emotional depth to these reminiscences, evoking a sense of longing and melancholy.
