Still finds his identity in looks and cars
He still thinks that his looks and possessions define him.

If he only knew that he ain't have to look so hard

If he turned to God and found his true identity in Him.

It may seem odd
It might seem strange to others.

But he be so satisfied, he can leave it all
But he would be completely content and could give up his pursuit of material things.

Got her hair done, toes, nails
She's had her hair, toes, and nails professionally done.

Is that Her, well it's hard to tell
It's difficult to recognize her because of how much makeup she's wearing.

Cause she's so caked up in all that make up
She's wearing too much makeup.

It's like she's trying to make up for her insecurities or shortcomings.

She's a good person but she's unsure of who she is as an individual.

Her true beauty comes from her relationship with God.

I'm wondering how to achieve success.

Why do I say I'm blessed, huh
I'm questioning why I claim to be blessed.

Is it the car that I drive
Am I basing my success on material possessions, like my car?

Or the place that I rest
Or where I live?

Or the clothes I wear?

Is the cause of my pride
Am I too prideful about these things?

The stage and the set
Are my accomplishments and accolades.

Or my face in the press, now, now
Or my fame and recognition in the media?

It's the applause that dies
All of these things are fleeting and won't last.

When the praise is less
When people stop praising me.

If my face is depressed, then, then
If I feel down or unhappy.

It's cause my value and worth is in the volume of the work I produce in the booth
I feel that my value and worth as a person is tied to my success as a musician.

It's a prize and a curse if defined by the perks when the truth is through
It's both a reward and a disadvantage if I define myself by the superficial benefits of success, especially if I discover that they aren't enough.

When I am with God, my weaknesses are transformed into strengths.

We are all siblings in Christ.

I am forgiven by God.

He's dismissed guilt and my sin
God has forgiven my sins and removed my guilt.

And then I find my worth cause I'm Jesus' friend
I recognize my true worth comes from my relationship with Jesus.
