One of my favorite albums, I got it for a dollar from an older man in my college town who posted a listing in my music school saying he was selling records. Now, I realize that my own vocal style has been incredibly influenced by hers, by just this one album, in, what? 1 or 2 years of listening? That’s powerful. ❤️

I owned this album when it first hit. I was 14 years old and would play it while doing my homework. Diana Washington, too. But Dakota was a genius interpreter and a sexy tone. Thanks for the memory.
