Leave Me Alone
Damone Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I thought I made it clear
That I don't want you here
I thought that you'd be freakin bored by now
And all the words you know
Are I want you to go
So if you please just leave me here right now
Right now, right now, right now
Just what is it you got
That makes you freakin smart
You think that you can stay and figure me out
There's nothing here to know
Just that you have to go
So get your things and leave me here right now
Right now, right now, right now

So why haven't you gone
I think there's something wrong
You haven't seem to hear me kicking you out
I'm begging for you to stay
When I want you away

Because you know I need you here right now
Right now, right now, right now

Overall Meaning

In the lyrics to Damone's song "Leave Me Alone," the singer is expressing frustration and confusion towards someone who is not taking a hint to leave. The opening lines make it clear that the singer has already explicitly stated their desire for the other person to go, using harsher language such as "I don't want you here" and "just leave me here right now." The singer implies that they could see the other person getting bored with the situation, indicating that it has been going on for some time.

The second verse takes a slightly more aggressive tone towards the other person. The singer seems to be suggesting that the other person thinks they are smarter or more in control of the situation than they actually are. The lines "There's nothing here to know/ Just that you have to go" paint the picture of a situation in which the singer has had enough and simply wants the other person to leave. However, the final verse takes a different turn. Suddenly, the singer seems to be sending mixed signals. On the one hand, they're still saying that they want the other person to leave ("I want you away"), but on the other hand, they're indicating that they need the other person to stay for some reason. The lines "Because you know I need you here right now" suggest that there may be underlying emotions or issues that the singer is struggling with.
