Butterflies
Dan Daniels & Miss D-Star Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You wouldn't know where your magic comes from
I landed myself here thinking
Seeing how far it's going to be
I had a dream of a butterfly
Kissing my nose
You're handed to me as easy as I breath
My words had been nowhere since I didn't even remember
All I know that we need this As pieces that fit

Together we're in it
I got songs in my head now
They keep playing na na na nanana

And soon I found we danced like a crab in the sand
From 5 to 7 we're building heaven
Can you see the obvious
We're keeping the chain
Tomorrow will change for the better

E a e a (it's just feel right)
E a e a

1 2 3 4 what are we here for
What are we here for
5 6 7 everything falling into places
We have nothing
We have nothing
1 2 3 4 what are we here for
What are we here for
5 6 7 everything falling into places
We have nothing
We have nothing to lose

E a e a (it's just feel right)
E a e a

E a e a (it's just feel right)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Dan Daniels & Miss D-Star's song "Butterflies" seem to be about the feeling of finding love or connection unexpectedly. The opening line "You wouldn't know where your magic comes from" could refer to the mystery of attraction and how it's hard to pinpoint what draws us to someone. The singer then talks about landing somewhere and wondering how far things will go, perhaps indicating that they're taking a risk or unsure of the outcome.

The dream of a butterfly kissing their nose could be a symbol of the moment when they realized they were falling for the other person. The line "You're handed to me as easy as I breathe" suggests that the connection came naturally and effortlessly. The singer mentions not being able to remember their words, but sensing that they need each other and fit together.

The second half of the song is more upbeat and seems to celebrate the joy of being together. Dancing like a crab in the sand and building heaven from 5 to 7 could be interpreted as a metaphor for creating something special and unique with someone. The chanting of "na na na" reinforces the sense of carefree happiness. The repetition of the lines "What are we here for, everything falling into place" could mean that the singer has found purpose and direction through this unexpected love. The final line, "We have nothing to lose," suggests that they're willing to take risks and enjoy the moment fully.

That "Give me a dream and I get closer and closer" is kinda good. That's sensitive. But give me a drink and maybe two so I can get close to you?! What is that? Is someone forcing you to get close to him? Do you need to numb the unbearable pain of standing in his vicinity? :)) The song could have been better. Same notes, no fluctuations. Pretty lousy English. Op op ooooh!
