The truth is that with “Speaking thru the others”, his first solo album, is more than proven that his sonic and lyrical landscape is wider than what we are used in his rock band. He said he’s written more than one hundred songs in the last two years, and some of them are meant to be part of another project, not just dumped into a drawer. He was pushed by some friends and producer Paco Loco to start his own thing, and he got to open a gig for Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, Big Star, The Disciplines, R.E.M.). Once Dani finished his show Ken asked him: “The songs you have played, they are covers, innit?” Ken showed real interest in working with those songs in the future and that was another big push for convincing Dani to go on with this solo album. In April 2009, Dani and Ken Stringfellow went to Paco Loco’s Studio to record the 12 songs in the album. Dani had the clear idea to make things easier, so he called his friends to play along in the album: Pakomoto and Rafa from GAS Drummers, Muni Camón, Chuchi Cabral from Leda 3, and Angel Figueroa from Paco Loco Trios.Paco Loco is also a very important key in this album as he’s Dani’s favourite producer and a good friend. He helped Dani to re-shape the ideas he recorded home and provided that final touch and instrumentation. The album release is a co-production between the newborn Red Vanette Music (where Dani is
co-owner himself) and the French label Rocksmyass, and is due to be available in September
2009 in France and October 2009 in Spain.
There are some tour plans for this fall-winter in Spain and France.
Me Too
Dani Llamas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
and my heart is confined
and your mercy is my cage
Everything is okay
I'll assume my position
if you kiss me again
I don't look what I am
I'm the innocent
and my body is loose
I live in no man's land
I'm a proof to you
Have you ever felt like you're in full bloom?
Sorry, but me too.
Between love and barriers
there is room for the angels
that cripple with fear
We both want to believe
we're surrounded by judges
that don't know a thing.
Do never feel sorry
I don't look what I am
I'm the innocent
and my body is loose
I live in no man's land
I'm a proof to you
Have you ever felt like you're in full bloom?
Sorry, but me too.
You can't treat me like fool.
The lyrics to Dani Llamas's song "Me Too" are complex and layered, not easily lending themselves to a straightforward interpretation. At its core, the song seems to be about the struggle between desire and shame, between wanting to be loved and feeling unworthy of that love. The singer of the song is trapped in a kind of paradox: on one hand, she craves the attention and affection of another, but on the other hand, she feels that she doesn't deserve it, that she is somehow "loose" or "sinful." This tension is conveyed through the repeated refrain, "I'm the innocent / and my body is loose," which suggests that the singer is both seeking and resisting sexual contact.
At the same time, the song also seems to be commenting on larger societal issues, particularly the way in which women are often judged and shamed for their sexuality. The line "we're surrounded by judges / that don't know a thing" seems to suggest that even though the singer and her lover are consenting adults, society would still view their relationship as somehow immoral or improper. This tension between societal pressure and personal desire is further emphasized by the line "you can't treat me like a fool," which suggests that the singer is aware of the judgment that surrounds her and is determined not to let it control her.
Overall, then, "Me Too" is a song that explores the messy, complicated nature of desire and shame, and the ways in which our fears and insecurities can hold us back from experiencing love and connection.
