Daniel Schuhmacher-Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)
Sweet dreams are made of these
who I am to disagree
I travel the world
and the seven seas
everybody’s looking for something.
Some of them want to use you
some of them want to get used by you
some of them want to abuse you
some of them want to be abused
Sweet dreams are made of these
who I am to disagree
I travel the world
and the seven seas
everybody’s looking for something
Hold your head up-Keep your head up-MOVIN´ ON
Hold your head up-MOVIN´ ON-Keep your head up-MOVIN´ ON Hold your head up-MOVIN´ ON-Keep your head up-MOVIN´ ON
Hold your head up-MOVIN´ ON-Keep your head up
Some of them want to use you
some of them want to get used by you
some of them want to abuse you
some of them want to be abused
Hold your head up-Keep your head up-MOVIN´ ON
Hold your head up-MOVIN´ ON-Keep your head up-MOVIN´ ON Hold your head up-MOVIN´ ON-Keep your head up-MOVIN´ ON
Hold your head up-MOVIN´ ON-Keep your head up
Some of them want to use you
some of them want to get used by you
some of them want to abuse you
some of them want to be abused
Sweet dreams are made of these
who am I to disagree
I travel the world
and the seven seas
everybody’s looking for something
Sweet dreams are made of these
who am I to disagree
I travel the world
and the seven seas
everybody’s looking for something
Sweet dreams are made of these
who am I to disagree
I travel the world
and the seven seas
everybody’s looking for something
Sweet dreams are made of these
who am I to disagree
I travel the world

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Daniel Schuhmacher's song "Sweet Dreams" are a reflection on the human desire to find meaning and purpose in life. The opening lines, "Sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to disagree?" suggest that there are certain universal truths that people are searching for, even if they don't always agree on the specifics. The mention of "the world and the seven seas" implies that this search is universal, and that people all over the world are looking for something.

However, the song also acknowledges that not everyone has the same motivations in life. The lines "some of them want to use you, some of them want to get used by you, some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused" suggest that there are those who are willing to manipulate or take advantage of others in order to achieve their own goals. This creates a tension between the desire for unity and understanding, and the reality of human selfishness and greed.

Ultimately, however, the song remains optimistic. The repeated refrain "hold your head up, moving on" suggests that despite setbacks and disappointments, people can continue to strive towards their goals and find happiness in life. The closing lines, "Everybody's looking for something, sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to disagree?" imply that while there may be disagreements and differences of opinion, there is still a common goal that unites all humanity: the search for meaning and purpose.
