How you doin'?
Glad I crossed your path today.
And no, I'm nothing really special,
But I've got a lot to say.
Man, that smile, how it holds me
And catches me off guard.
And shapes my broken heart.
Cause you,
You've got a hold on me.
Yeah, you.
You've got a hold on me.
Yeah, you.
You've got a hold on me
And that's okay
Cause i wouldn't have it any other way.
I love the way you stain your t-shirts
Every time you eat.
And nothing could replace the sight of you
Every night you sleep.
Cause you,
You've got a hold on me.
Yeah, you.
You've got a hold on me.
Yeah, you.
You've got a hold on me
And that's okay
Cause i wouldn't have it any other way.
The song "Any Other Way" by Daniela Andrade is about the feeling of being held by someone you love and how much power they can have over you. The singer is talking about a person she has just met, yet from the first moment, she feels a deep connection with him. She admits that she is nothing special herself, but this newfound person is taking control over her thoughts and emotions. She is fascinated and intrigued by his smile, voice, and the way he stains his t-shirts when he eats.
The line "you've got a hold on me" is repeated throughout the song to emphasize the power that this person has over the singer. However, she doesn't mind this hold and accepts it because she wouldn't have it any other way. She appreciates the way he shape-shifts her broken heart and how the sight of him sleeping brings her joy. Overall, the song speaks to the feeling of falling in love and how the other person's quirks and imperfections become endearing and cherished.
