Dannii first broke out of her sister's shadow in 1997 with the album Girl. Whilst Kylie Minogue was experimenting with dark lyrics, indie collaborations and moody images (Impossible Princess), Dannii went out and out for the dancefloor with the huge hit All I Wanna Do. Unfortunately, the album that it was from only reached No. 57. However, Dannii herself has said, "This was a big turning point for me. It has led me on to the album Neon Nights and my collaborations with many club DJs and remixers".
2001 was a success for Dannii, when her vocals were part of Riva's Who Do You Love Now?, which laid the foundations for her fourth album Neon Nights released in March 2003.
Moving to London Records, Dannii made more credible dance tracks including I Begin To Wonder and Put The Needle On It. In 2003, Dannii released her fourth album, Neon Nights. It was a surprise chart success, reaching no.8 in the UK charts and eventually achieving gold status, selling over 100,000 copies. The album also made gold certification in Australia. Dannii also teamed up with chill-out Ibiza stars Afterlife for a collaboration on their Speck of Gold album. Dannii's star was beginning to shine in its own right.
In 2004, after a top 10 album and four top 10 singles, Dannii moved to All Around The World Records. Her first single for AATW was You Won't Forget About Me, which saw Dannii's vocals layered on top of the instrumental hit Flower Power and landed at no.7 in the UK charts, making it Dannii's fifth consecutive top 10 hit. You Won't Forget About Me was followed up in 2005 by Perfection, on which Dannii teamed up with the Soul Seekerz, which narrowly missed out on the top 10 in the UK, peaking at no.11. In 2006, she returned with So Under Pressure and her Greatest Hits album The Hits & Beyond.
Dannii has been a judge on British television channel ITV's The X Factor since 2007 alongside Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
In November 2007, Girl and Neon Nights were re-released with bonus discs, with a new studio album Club Disco and compilation album Unleashed appearing within the following weeks. A stand alone single Touch Me Like That was released in December 2007. It was later included on the re-release of Club Disco released in Australia in the spring 2008.
Later in 2008, the logical and long-overdue duet with her own sister finally was released as Kylie & Dannii recorded a cover of ABBA's The Winner Takes It All appeared on the soundtrack album to the shortlived BBC show Beautiful People.

When I'm walking down the street I call your name
Inside my head I go insane
Don't you know that it's really making me crazy
There were days when I went completely blind
Won't believe what's happened to me lately
'Cause every day is the same day
Different faces with no names
Places I've never been before
And every day is the same thing
Different faces with no names
Places I've never been before
And I begin to wonder
Don't you know that it's really making me crazy
And I begin to wonder
Won't believe what's happened to me lately
'Cause every day is the same day
Different faces with no names
Places I've never been before
And every day is the same thing
Different faces with no names
Places I've never been before
And every time I think I'm breaking free
These thoughts return to trouble me
Hanging on to love has left me empty
You're a sinner but you told me you're a saint
Too fast I tripped and lost my way
Can't believe what's happened to me lately
'Cause every day is the same day
Different faces with no name
Places I've never been before
And every day is the same thing
Different faces with no name
Places I've never been before
And I begin to wonder
Don't you know that it's really making me crazy
And I begin to wonder
Won't believe what's happened to me lately
'Cause every day is the same day
Different faces with no name
Places I've never been before
And every day is the same thing
Different faces with no name
Places I've never been before
Walking down the street I call your name
(All this time you led me astray)
And making love to you I do the same
(But now I know you blinded me)
And there were days when I went completely blind
(I thought I was over you, really over you)
No time to think, I lost time
(No, I'm not over you)
And I begin to wonder
Don't you know that it's really making me crazy
And I begin to wonder
Won't believe what's happened to me lately
'Cause every day is the same day
Different faces with no name
Places I've never been before
And every day is the same thing
Different faces with no name
Places I've never been before
And I begin to wonder
The lyrics of Dannii Minogue's song "Begin To Spin Me Round" expresses the feelings of frustration and confusion that an individual experience when they feel like they are stuck in a rut, doing the same thing every day with no escape. The song's opening lines give us an insight into the singer's mind, who calls out the name of someone they care about as they walk down the street, revealing the extent of their obsession with this person. However, it also shows that they are struggling to hold it together mentally, as they feel like they are going insane.
The chorus epitomizes the monotony of life that the singer is going through, as they encounter different people and new places every day, with no real connection or meaning. The verse 'And every time I think I'm breaking free, These thoughts return to trouble me, Hanging on to love has left me empty' portrays how the obsession with their loved one is holding them back from truly living their life.
The song's bridge describes the singer's journey, where they came across a sinner who portrayed themselves as a saint, and they fell deeply for this person. However, they soon realize that they were blinded by their love, and all along, they were in a wrong relationship that led to their detriment. The final chorus of the song emphasizes the feeling of being trapped and unable to escape the monotonous life they lead, with each day feeling like the same.
Overall, Dannii Minogue's "Begin To Spin Me Round" is a relatable and insightful exploration into the frustrations and feelings of entrapment that are familiar to many. The song's upbeat rhythm and catchy melodies mask the darker underlying message, elevating it into an anthem for anyone stuck in a seemingly never-ending cycle.

Prob one of the best Mash-Ups from the 2003 era. Still sounds great. Neon was such a cool modern/'80's reimagined album. So much naughtiness on it...Put a needle on IT! haha
