Dannii first broke out of her sister's shadow in 1997 with the album Girl. Whilst Kylie Minogue was experimenting with dark lyrics, indie collaborations and moody images (Impossible Princess), Dannii went out and out for the dancefloor with the huge hit All I Wanna Do. Unfortunately, the album that it was from only reached No. 57. However, Dannii herself has said, "This was a big turning point for me. It has led me on to the album Neon Nights and my collaborations with many club DJs and remixers".
2001 was a success for Dannii, when her vocals were part of Riva's Who Do You Love Now?, which laid the foundations for her fourth album Neon Nights released in March 2003.
Moving to London Records, Dannii made more credible dance tracks including I Begin To Wonder and Put The Needle On It. In 2003, Dannii released her fourth album, Neon Nights. It was a surprise chart success, reaching no.8 in the UK charts and eventually achieving gold status, selling over 100,000 copies. The album also made gold certification in Australia. Dannii also teamed up with chill-out Ibiza stars Afterlife for a collaboration on their Speck of Gold album. Dannii's star was beginning to shine in its own right.
In 2004, after a top 10 album and four top 10 singles, Dannii moved to All Around The World Records. Her first single for AATW was You Won't Forget About Me, which saw Dannii's vocals layered on top of the instrumental hit Flower Power and landed at no.7 in the UK charts, making it Dannii's fifth consecutive top 10 hit. You Won't Forget About Me was followed up in 2005 by Perfection, on which Dannii teamed up with the Soul Seekerz, which narrowly missed out on the top 10 in the UK, peaking at no.11. In 2006, she returned with So Under Pressure and her Greatest Hits album The Hits & Beyond.
Dannii has been a judge on British television channel ITV's The X Factor since 2007 alongside Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
In November 2007, Girl and Neon Nights were re-released with bonus discs, with a new studio album Club Disco and compilation album Unleashed appearing within the following weeks. A stand alone single Touch Me Like That was released in December 2007. It was later included on the re-release of Club Disco released in Australia in the spring 2008.
Later in 2008, the logical and long-overdue duet with her own sister finally was released as Kylie & Dannii recorded a cover of ABBA's The Winner Takes It All appeared on the soundtrack album to the shortlived BBC show Beautiful People.
Don't Wanna Lose This Groove

I'm back for more and I got the cure
I know where I'm going for sure
What we threw away, we should be saved
Come and make my day
(BREAK)
I said some things
And I said some things I did not mean to
Now I'm back for more (more)
(CHORUS)
'Cos I don't wanna lose this feeling
That you're giving me every time I need it
Ain't lookin' for more
I need what you're givin' me more, and more
I don't wanna lose this feelin'
That you're givin' me every time I need it
I ain't lookin' for more
I need what you're givin' me, more
(give me more)
(VERSE 2)
Why can't we blow, why don't we go
With our imperfections, we know
What we threw away, should be saved
Come and make my day
(repeat BREAK)
(repeat CHORUS)
Don't wanna lose, don't, this feel
Don't, don't wanna lose, don't, this feel
Wanna lose, don't, this, this feel
I'm ready, I'm ready, ready, ready, ready
I'm ready, come get me
And give me some more, give me some more
I'm ready, come get me
And give me some more
(repeat CHORUS)
Ooh I'm ready
Oh give me some more
Oh some more
Yeah
The lyrics to Dannii Minogue's "Don't Wanna Lose This Groove" seem to be describing a situation where the singer and the person she is addressing had some troubles in their relationship or communication, but they are now ready to move past that and focus on the positive feelings they have for each other. The singer is confident that she knows where she is going, and wants to save what they had thrown away before. The chorus emphasizes this desire to hold on to the positive vibes they have together and not let them slip away. The repetition of the phrase "give me more" reinforces this idea that the singer wants to hold on to this feeling and experience even more of it.
The lyrics also touch on the idea that imperfections are okay and that they can work with them in their relationship. This idea is reflected in the lines "With our imperfections, we know / What we threw away should be saved." This emphasizes the importance of accepting each other for who they are, flaws and all, and not giving up on their relationship.
Overall, the lyrics to "Don't Wanna Lose This Groove" seem to be about holding on to positive feelings and experiences in a relationship, despite past difficulties or mistakes. It is a message of hope and determination to keep things going strong.
