And it won't change my mind if you get on your knees
Now I can go, I can leave
And this time it's needless to say please
I'll find my way somewhere else
I'll find a little pretty babe I can caress
I'll find my way with someone new
I need girls, I need kisses
I need hugs, but no worries
I need girls, I need kisses
I need hugs, but no big deals
Now when I'm sad, I have nobody
That I can kiss or that can comfort me
And when I'm glad, or when I'm happy
I can't even refrain from feeling lonely
So I told it to my oldest friend
And he said happiness is true only when shared
Right, I told it to oldest friend
And he said happiness is true only when shared
I need girls, I need kisses
I need hugs, but no worries
I need girls, I need kisses
I need hugs, but no big deals
So I told it to my oldest friend
And he said happiness is true only when shared
Right, I told it to oldest friend
And he said happiness is true only when shared
I need girls, I need kisses
I need hugs, but no worries
I need girls, I need kisses
I need hugs, but no big deals
I need girls, I need girls
I need girls, I need girls
I need girls, I need girls
I need girls, girls, girls
The lyrics of Dare's song "When" convey a sense of independence and detachment from a current relationship. The singer expresses a willingness to leave and move on without hesitation, regardless of any pleas from their partner. The lyrics suggest that the singer has reached a breaking point and has decided to seek happiness elsewhere.
In the first verse, the singer asserts their ability to leave and that it won't change their mind, even if their partner begs. This could imply that the relationship has become strained and the singer no longer feels satisfied or content.
The second verse continues this theme of moving on, stating that the singer will find someone new to be with. They express a desire for physical intimacy and affection, emphasizing their need for "girls, kisses, and hugs." The lyrics also convey a sense of dissatisfaction and disappointment with their current situation, as the singer apologizes for reaching the point of wanting to move on.
The third verse delves into the singer's emotions and their struggle with loneliness. They describe feeling both sad and happy but lacking someone to share those emotions with. This leads the singer to seek advice from their oldest friend, who suggests that true happiness can only be experienced when shared. This interaction reflects a realization within the singer that they have been missing the value of sharing their life with others.
The repeating chorus emphasizes the singer's longing for companionship and affection, emphasizing their need for "girls, kisses, and hugs." The lyrics highlight the importance of these connections in their life, suggesting that they desire love and intimacy but also underscoring that these desires are not something to worry about or make a big deal out of.
Overall, the lyrics of "When" explore themes of independence, dissatisfaction, loneliness, and the importance of sharing happiness with others. The song captures the singer's desire for romantic connections and affection, while also conveying their readiness to move on from a relationship that no longer meets their needs.
