Darius (a.k.a. Terence N'guyen) is a French producer from Paris. His preferred genres usually range between house and disco, though many have pinpointed his sound in the "French touch" category. His work has been likened to Cassius, Fred Falke, and Daft Punk. To date, he has released two EPs via his label, Roche Musique - the critically-praised 'Velour', released in 2012, and his 2014 follow-up, 'Romance'.
N'guyen is also a member of the nu-disco duo Cherokee, alongside Dorian Miche.

Darius Campbell-Danesh (born 19 August 1980 in Glasgow, Scotland of Persian descendants, died 11 August 2022) was a songwriter, platinum recording artist and acclaimed West End stage actor, well-known from the British TV hit show Pop Idol, from which American Idol was born. His first, self-penned single, "Colourblind", entered the UK singles chart at number one, and his debut album went platinum under the guidance of Grammy-winning U2 producer Steve Lillywhite. Darius has had five UK Top Ten singles and he is managed by Simon Fuller. In 2006 he ended a second successful West End run in the musical Chicago playing Billy Flynn, and 2007 will see him star as Sky Masterson in the musical Guys and Dolls.
Darius' professional career began playing a ten-year-old Trojan boy in the Scottish Opera's avante garde 1990s production of The Trojans. As a teenager he then toured with the Scottish Opera in a critically acclaimed production of Carmen. After performing at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, Darius faced the first of many career cross-roads. He chose to return to his studies in lieu of training his rich baritone voice for an Operatic career.
While studying English Literature at Edinburgh University, a chance audition and promise of a record deal led Darius to fame on the television show Popstars. After reaching the final stages, Darius went on to audition for the show that was in a sense its successor, Pop Idol. He got through to the final rounds of Pop Idol, ultimately placing third. However, he turned down Simon Cowell's million pound offer to sing cover songs,[3] and instead sent a self-composed track to his favourite producer in the hope of creating something original. Grammy-winning U2 producer Steve Lillywhite signed him to a five-album deal. In the summer of 2002, "Colourblind" became Darius' first number one single and that Christmas, his self-penned album "Dive In" went platinum.
Over the next two years, Darius would go on to support Shakira in Paris on her World Tour; complete his own sell-out UK tour; become an Ambassador for the Prince's Trust; contribute to the War Child charity album[5] with Coldplay and Oasis; write a no. 6 Sunday Times Best Seller book, "Sink or Swim"; and headline in India with Alanis Morissette after his album went platinum there.
After receiving news that his father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Darius wrote and dedicated his second studio album to Dr Booth Danesh, the man he calls his "hero". In 2005, the album's title track "Live Twice" became Darius' fifth Top Ten single. Amazingly, father Booth not only lived to see his son perform it at the Royal Albert Hall, but fought and beat his cancer into remission, echoing the song's lyrics.
During 2006 and 2007 he composed for his third album in Los Angeles.

DARIUS is a German band formed in December 1989 in Germany, whose style is rooted in such bands as PINK FLOYD, SAGA and MARILLION among others.
The band was formed by: Marcus Arnrich / drums, Markus Getta / guitars, Tom Mueller / bass, Dirk Bovensiepen / vocals and Sven Martin / keyboards, and with this lineup they released their debut album "A Poet's Soliloquy" in 1994.
This first album is promising but it's evident that they required some practice because the sound is a bit amateur, with a clearly Fish-era MARILLION which is enhanced by the voice of Dirk Bobvenspen which is very similar to the tall Scottish vocalist.
In 1997, the band released their second album, "Voices from the Crowd", which represents a great evolution since their debut; pay special attention to the second half of the album that is dedicated to an Egyptian tale, since we are talking about a semi-conceptual album.
In 1999 the band released their last and only live album, "Somewhere Alive in the Crowd", which contains excellent material from their previous albums and a cover version of Kayleigh by MARILLION.

Beauty
Darius Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Something you could only dream
Impossible chances
Seem to come to me
Untie our shoes together
Then ripped off my sweater
I'm drowning drowning drowning drowning drowning
The way you take me away
How she likes
How she feels
How she loves
And how she moves
Tension suspension until our hearts meet
Pinch me this must be a dream
Grippin' grippin' grippin'
She's always grippin' me
Breakin' her nails my back is made of steel
It's so real
I never never never felt something like her before
I want more
Beauty queen beauty queen telling me
How she likes
How she feels
How she loves
And how she moves
In these lyrics, Darius paints a vivid picture of a captivating beauty queen who seems to embody everything the singer desires but considers out of reach. The opening lines convey a sense of admiration and longing for the unattainable, describing the beauty queen with a gleam that feels like a distant dream. Despite these impossible chances, there is a sense of unexpected connection when the beauty queen unties the singer's shoes and passionately removes their sweater. However, the overwhelming feeling of drowning suggests that this encounter is both intense and consuming, drawing the singer further into the allure of the beauty queen.
As the singer delves deeper into the experience, there is a juxtaposition of vulnerability and strength in the interaction. The beauty queen's actions of gripping the singer and breaking her nails on their back symbolize a raw, physical connection that borders on both pleasure and pain. The imagery of the singer's back being made of steel suggests a resilience that allows them to endure the intensity of the moment while acknowledging the surreal quality of the encounter. This fusion of physical sensation and emotional depth creates a heightened reality where the beauty queen seems to represent a singular experience that the singer has never encountered before.
Amidst the whirlwind of sensations, the beauty queen remains a mysterious and alluring figure who not only expresses her desires but also reflects the singer's own yearning for more. The tension and suspension build as their hearts meet, leading the singer to question if this surreal experience is indeed a dream. The repetition of words like "grippin'" and "never" underscores the intensity of the connection, as if the singer is grappling with the overwhelming sensations that the beauty queen evokes. Through her words and actions, the beauty queen becomes a conduit for the singer to explore their own feelings and desires, creating a mirroring effect that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy.
Ultimately, these lyrics capture a moment of intense passion and longing, where the beauty queen represents a symbol of unattainable beauty and desire. The singer's journey with the beauty queen is not just physical but also emotional, as they navigate a realm of heightened sensations and complex emotions. Through the beauty queen's actions and words, the singer is drawn into a dreamlike experience that challenges their perceptions of reality and pushes them to confront their own desires and vulnerabilities. This exploration of beauty, desire, and connection culminates in a mesmerizing and mysterious interaction that leaves the singer longing for more, forever changed by their encounter with the enigmatic beauty queen.
