In 2000, Darling Violetta released The Kill You EP, and in 2003, the album Parlour.
In 2005, the band composed an extended version of the Angel theme called "The Sanctuary Extended Remix", featured on the soundtrack of the series Live Fast - Die Never.
The style of the band is recognizable for the voice of singer Cami Elen (compared by some critics to that of PJ Harvey), the use of cello and violin, specially in their early compositions, and lyrics charged with sexual innuendos, dark metaphors and goth references.
Darling Violetta also wrote and produced a song for Activision for their game, "Vampire: the Masquerade - Redemption", titled "I Want to Kill You". The meaning of the song has been debated since its release, but most people tend to agree the song is about a ghoul missing her vampiric master. They also wrote another song for the Masquerade Universe which was in "Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines" entitled "Smaller God".
Darling Violetta have their own website at http://www.darlingvioletta.com and are currently working on their Fourth Album along with a DVD.

Darling Violetta Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tried everything I could to make you see
But you don't love yourself
You can't love me or anyone else
You said I was the best thing in your life
Is that why you run, why you hide?
You will never be the cure
You will never be the cure
And you will never change
You will never be the cure
I've given you every part of me
Tried everything I could to make you see
But you don't love yourself
You can't love me or anyone else
You said I was the best thing in your life
Is that why you run, why you hide?
You will never be the cure
And you will never change
You will never be the cure
And you will never change
You will never be the cure
In this song, the singer is addressing someone they love deeply who is struggling with self-love and self-acceptance. The singer has given all of themselves to this person, hoping that their love would be enough to help them heal and grow. However, they realize that their love can't fix this person's issues, and that they need to love themselves before they can truly love anyone else. The repeated lines of "You will never be the cure and you will never change" emphasize this point - the singer knows that they can't save this person or fix their problems for them.
The chorus of the song is particularly powerful, as it addresses the idea that we can't force someone else to change or be the person we want them to be. This can be a difficult truth to accept when we care deeply about someone, but it's an important lesson in self-love and boundaries. The singer is acknowledging that they can't be the cure for this person's problems, and that it's not their responsibility to try.
Overall, Darling Violetta's "Cure" is a poignant exploration of the limits of love and the importance of self-love and acceptance. It's a reminder that we can only change ourselves, and that it's not fair to expect others to change for us.
