The Chase
Daron. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I like the chase
but I'd never stay for good
I'd like to think that it'd work
but it never could
And honey I know
I know you want to make things right
between us two
But baby as long as I am me
and I get to breathe then
I aint gonna waste my days with you

...yea

You hate the way that we sway
from back and forth
I hate the days when I leave
you wanting more
And I can't promise that my love
will last until tomorrows bitter end
But I can promise that tonight you'll be alright
with all this love that I have to give

This week you wanna get with me
Next week you're all set to leave
What else do you want from me...
my love?

nahh

This week you wanna get with me
Next week you're all set and leave
What else do you want from me...
my love?

nah..

Overall Meaning

In "The Chase," Daron. reflects on the nature of relationships and his unwillingness to fully commit. He acknowledges the excitement and thrill of the chase, the initial stages of a romantic connection, but also recognizes his own tendency to never stay for good. Despite wanting to believe that a relationship would work, he admits that it never could because of his own reluctance to fully commit.

Daron. acknowledges the other person's desire to make things right between them, but he emphasizes that as long as he remains true to himself and continues to live his own life, he won't waste his days with that person. This suggests that he values his freedom and independence more than settling down in a relationship, even if it means potentially missing out on a meaningful connection.

The second paragraph delves into the conflicting feelings that exist between Daron. and his love interest. He mentions how they sway back and forth, implying that their dynamic is characterized by uncertainty and inconsistency. While he hates the days when he leaves the other person wanting more, he also can't promise that his love will last until the end of time. Despite this, he assures them that for tonight, they will be alright and experience the love he has to offer.

The third and fourth paragraphs highlight the cyclic nature of their relationship. Daron. expresses frustration with the other person's fluctuating desires, as one week they want to be with him and the next they are ready to leave. He questions what else they might want from him, emphasizing that his love alone should be enough. The repetition of "my love" at the end further reinforces this sentiment, suggesting that he has given all he can and expects the other person to appreciate and accept him for who he is.

Overall, "The Chase" paints a picture of a complex and volatile relationship, where Daron. grapples with his own reservations about commitment and the unpredictability of his love interest's desires. It reflects the struggle between desire and self-preservation, ultimately questioning whether love alone is enough to sustain a relationship.

Me 2

@XaviRonaldo0

Absolutely pathetic. They probably are smarter than me but I couldn't live with myself lowering someone's prize by a significant amounts especially if you don't contribute in the final chase.

@chateaupig826

So many do that .
Take the lower offer , get back , answer nothing in the final and get a share of thousands of pounds 😲
