Destination Calabria

I left my job my boss my car and my home.
I'm leaving for a destination I still don't know.
Somewhere nobody must have duties at all.
And if you like this you can follow me so let's go,
Follow me,
And let's go,
We can go... to a paradise of love and joy a Destination Unknown.
Now I won't feel those heavy shoulders no more,
My life got better now I finally enjoy,
Yes all the people want to come here and so?
Come on and join us you can do that now let's go,
Follow me,
And let's go,
To the place where we belong and leave our troubles at home come with me,
We can go... to a paradise of love and joy a Destination Unknown...
Destination Unknown...
Destination Unknown, unknown,
Destination Unknown, follow me and let's go follow me and lets go
Destination Unknown, follow me and lets go follow me and lets go
Destination Unknown,
Follow me and lets go to the place where we belong and leave our troubles at home come with me,
We can go... to a paradise of love and joy a Destination Unknown.
The lyrics to Dave Pearce's song "Destination Calabria" describe the singer's decision to abandon familiar responsibilities and embark on an unknown journey towards an undisclosed destination. The persona is leaving behind familiar trappings such as their job, boss, car, and home, and seeking out a place where there are no duties. The singer invites others to join them on this journey to a place of love, joy, and paradise. The repetition of the phrase "follow me, and let's go" emphasizes the persona's sense of urgency and enthusiasm about their journey.
The song's lyrics can be interpreted as a call to adventure, a pursuit of freedom from obligations and expectations, and a desire for a fresh start. The singer's use of the first-person point of view creates a sense of intimacy and compels the listener to embark on the journey with them. The song's enigmatic title adds to the sense of mystery surrounding the destination, and leaves the listener to imagine the possibilities of what lies ahead.
