Heaven
Dave Pearce Lyrics

My baby loves me
My day, it gets so heavy
I need a little company
It's quarter to eleven; it's time to make some ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
I need a little ghetto heaven
Nana likes brandy, especially peach
She keeps it by the radio
And listens to the Reverend preach
It's 10:07, and time to get some ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
It's time to get some ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
She needs a little ghetto heaven
Baby, baby, baby
All I need in this world is you
And when you're gone
Baby, baby, baby
Your touch, your kiss always gets me through
Sister needs her sugar
To get her through the day
She doesn't have the money
But always got a way to pay
It's 2:07; it's time to sell some ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
It's time to sell some ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
She needs a little ghetto heaven
You know I love my baby
My baby loves me
My day, it gets so heavy
I need a little company
It's quarter to 11; I need a little ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
My baby needs some ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
I need a little ghetto heaven
Ghetto heaven
The lyrics to Dave Pearce's "Heaven" depict a world where people are seeking comfort and escape from their daily struggles in the form of "ghetto heaven." The song provides a commentary on the harsh realities of life and the ways in which people try to cope. The singer of the song is in need of a break from the stresses of daily life and seeks solace in the company of his loved ones. The lyrics highlight the importance of companionship and finding ways to escape from the harsh realities of the world.
The repeated phrase "ghetto heaven" serves as a reminder that the people in the song are living in less-than-ideal conditions, yet they still find moments of joy and happiness. The different characters in the song - the singer's baby, Nana, and Sister - all have their own methods of coping with the difficulties they face. Whether it's drinking brandy, listening to the Reverend preach, or "selling ghetto heaven," each character finds a way to survive.
The song's lyrics also imply a sense of community among the people who are seeking ghetto heaven. They are all in this struggle together and rely on each other for support. Overall, the song provides a commentary on the resilience of the human spirit and the ways in which people find comfort in the face of hardship.
