Here there and everywhere
Short skirts long hair
Love it when they walk yeah
I'm on cloud 9
You look so fine
Can't wait to make you mine
Gotta take a glance
Body shaped like an hour glass
Pulling up to my bumper so hot
You work so hard like the way you work it
I look first, you look back,
Attracted to the way you shake that,
Yo, I know you can't fake that,
So bring it over here, so near, I can touch that,
One night just isn't enough,
I want to have you givin' it up,
So put ya number on the back of my hand,
You got a man, but I got other plans,
So baby girl, see'mon up oh..
[Chorus]
Oh...
You know I see you girl
You know I want you girl
'Cause your driving me crazy
Oh...
You know I see you girl
You know I want you girl
'Cause your driving me crazy
Driving me crazy...
I see girls,
Here there and everywhere
Short skirts long hair
Love it when they walk yeah
I'm on cloud 9
You look so fine
Can't wait to make you mine
I kinda like the way you walk past
Gotta take a glance
Body shaped like an hour glass
Pulling up to my bumper so hot
You work so hard like the way you work it
One night just isn't enough,
I want to have you givin' it up,
So put ya number on the back of my hand,
You got a man, but I got other plans,
So baby girl, see'mon up oh..
[Chorus]
Driving me crazy..
Cr...cr...crazy
Cr...cr...crazy
Driving me crazy..
[Chorus]
Driving me crazy..
Driving me crazy..
Crazy, crazy, crazy,crazy,
I see girls,
Here there and everywhere
Short skirts long hair
Love it when they walk yeah
I'm on cloud 9
You look so fine
(Driving me crazy)
Can't wait to make you mine
I kinda like the way you walk past
Gotta take a glance
Body shaped like an hour glass
Pulling up to my bumper so hot
You work so hard like the way you work it
Crazy, cr...cr...crazy,
Cr...cr...crazy,
Cr...cr...crazy,
Driving me crazy,
I see girls,
Cr...cr...crazy,
Cr...cr...crazy,
Cr...cr...crazy,
Driving me crazy,
I see girls!
The song "I See Girls" by Dave Pearce is about the singer's overwhelming attraction to women. He admires their beauty and can't get enough of seeing them everywhere he goes, especially when they walk past him. He describes their physical features, such as their short skirts, long hair, and hourglass body shape, and is particularly drawn to the way they move.
The singer is so entranced by the women around him that he feels he is on cloud nine. He wants to make them his and is willing to do whatever it takes to get their attention, even if they already have a man. He invites them to come closer, touch him, and give in to his advances. He is obsessed with the idea of being with these women and can't resist their allure.
The song portrays a common male perspective on women, which can be seen as objectifying and disrespectful. Nevertheless, it reflects a particular aspect of human nature, where one is tempted and attracted to the opposite sex.
Fact 1: "I See Girls" was released in 2003 by Dave Pearce, a British DJ and music producer. His remixes and compilations were popular in the early 2000s and helped promote dance music in the UK.
Fact 2: The song was written by DJ Hixxy, a famous hardcore artist, and features the vocals of Mooney. Mooney was an American R&B singer who collaborated with several dance music producers in Europe.
Fact 3: "I See Girls" samples the melody and chord progression of "Harlem Shuffle," a classic soul track by Bob & Earl. The funky guitar riff, brass stabs, and percussion were reworked to fit the dance floor vibe.
Fact 4: The song reached #14 on the UK Singles Chart and became a club classic. Its catchy chorus and energetic beat made it a staple of many DJ sets and mixtapes.
Fact 5: "I See Girls" was included in several dance music compilations, such as Clubland 3 and Essential Club Anthems. Its popularity earned it airplay on British radio and exposure on TV shows like Top of the Pops.
Fact 6: The music video for the song features footage of women walking, dancing, and frolicking in various locations, such as beaches, streets, and nightclubs. Dave Pearce and DJ Hixxy make cameo appearances, spinning records and nodding to the beat.
Fact 7: The song was remixed and covered by several artists, including Alex K, Ultrabeat, and Groove Coverage. The remixes added more bass, synths, and vocal chops to the original track and adapted it to different subgenres of dance music.
Fact 8: "I See Girls" was criticized by some music critics and social commentators for its explicit lyrics and objectification of women. They argued that it perpetuated sexist attitudes and treated women as mere objects of desire.
Fact 9: Dave Pearce and DJ Hixxy went on to collaborate on other dance music projects, such as the club hit "Inside Your Heaven" and the album "Hardcore Heaven 2." They became known for merging hardcore and trance elements in their productions.
Fact 10: The chords for "I See Girls" are based on a one-chord groove that repeats throughout the song. The chords are F# or Ab minor, depending on the key of the sample, and can be played on a guitar or keyboard in various voicings. The riff consists of a descending melody that follows the bass line and emphasizes the beat.
