Davi’s countless hours in the studio opened many doors for him, first of which was remixing Robert Babiczs’ “Zero” anthem which was released on the new Treibstoff label at the time. Earning recognition from top DJs in the scene like John Digweed, Guy J, Nick Warren, and 16 Bit Lolitas; Davi began establishing a name for himself in the Los Angeles underground scene.
Shortly thereafter in 2010 Davi became a resident DJ for Insomniac Events in Los Angeles, where he established his residency at Exchange LA and began playing Insomniac Festivals including twice at Escape from Wonderland opening for Richie Hawtin’s Enter stage. Life was serene, I knew where I was at
"There's no hope for him," my dearest friends would mutter
I was something dragged in by the cat. Then
Just in time, I found you just in time
Before you came my time was running low
I was lost, the losing dice were tossed
Now you're here and now I know just where I'm going
No more doubt or fear, I found my way
For love came just in time, you found me just in time
And changed my lonely life that lovely day
In David's song "Just In Case", he tells a story of a time when he was once on a downward spiral in his life. He uses imagery and metaphors to describe his miserable life which he had seemingly gotten used to. He was "resting comfortably" facedown in the gutter, indicating that he had given up and resigned himself to a life of misery. His closest friends had lost hope in him and believed he was beyond help. However, just in time, love found him and changed everything. He met someone who he could share his life with, and this turned his life around. The lyrics demonstrate a clear before and after - before meeting this person, David's life was directionless and devoid of any hope, but now that he has met someone, he feels like he has direction and purpose in life. The metaphor of the losing dice being tossed suggests that he was losing in life, and there appeared to be no way to recover. However, he found someone just in time to save him from his miserable existence.
Overall, these lyrics convey the message that love can be a transformative and life-changing force that can pull us out of the darkest moments of our lives. It highlights the idea that no matter how lost we feel, there is always hope that things will get better. "Just In Case" is a reminder of the power of love and how it can make us see the light even in the darkest of skies.
