I was probably listening to music from Atlanta before I got a text from my friend telling me about a producer named Nick. He asked me why I was keeping my rapping a secret and recommended that I meet him.

Played him that one thing that we did, he said that you should link up and he means it He just did the first single off that Unique shit, If you haven't heard then you need to go and peep it the shits mean
After I played Nick a song, he recommended that we work together, and he just produced a single for the group Unique. Nick suggested that I listen to it because it's really good.

Man, wish I was doin' this at fifteen Sixteen, shit, even eighteen Turned twenty, feels like I'm playin' catch up
I wish I started pursuing music earlier in life, and now that I'm twenty, it feels like I'm trying to catch up.

I'm still new and trying to improve my skills, and I didn't have many good songs to perform. I wasn't very confident, but an opportunity like this might not come again.

I replied to Nick that I was interested in working with him. If you want to achieve your dreams, sometimes it's worth staying late at work. I asked my mom to save me some dinner because I was busy pursuing this opportunity.

My wife and I are living in a small apartment with only a bed and a computer. We're living on our own because that's what society expects of us, but we're struggling financially.

The financial pressure is increasing every month, and I'm hoping we don't lose our phone service. Meanwhile, my wife is working hard and paying most of the rent, which shows her love and dedication.

We trust each other and share our home. Our weekdays are busy, and I try to write music during my workday. I pick her up before we head out for the night.

I need to be quiet before the neighbor complains, but I still feel like I haven't found my true voice or creative outlet yet.

I recently released a free album and plan to release another one later. As of late 2013, things are going well. I also just released a single called 'Runnin' and things are taking off.

I feel great about creating something from nothing. I hope that my biggest success comes unexpectedly.

Thinkin' back I get a knot in my stomach When my sis told me that our dad might not wake up from it
Looking back, I get upset when I remember my sister telling me that our dad might not survive his health issues.

It's not like I didn't know he would have to go Somehow you still feel it'll never happen tho 'Cause he been fightin' that since I was a primary You get immune to seein' him hooked to an IV
I knew that my dad's health would eventually decline, but it still feels surreal because he's been dealing with health issues since I was a child. You become used to seeing him in the hospital.

Makin' visits up to the ward so we could talk Over hospital noise, things beepin' and buzzin' off Somethin' you don't want nothin' of Hell of a thing for someone to suffer from
I visited my dad in the hospital to talk to him, but it was unpleasant due to all the noise and beeping machines. It's a terrible thing for someone to suffer from.

The ironic part of it all is, it's because of those times that I got to know him better than I ever did Just realize I ain't been the same ever since Guess it took a bigger toll than I said it did
Ironically, my dad's health issues actually brought us closer, and I realize now that it's been affecting me more than I thought.

But tryna get it in, wasn't nothin' comin' out Label on my back tellin' me the time is runnin' out But I don't do nothin' for the sake of it Want it done right then you're gonna have to wait a bit
I was struggling creatively and feeling pressure from my record label. I don't rush anything and only release music when it's done right, even if that means making people wait.

Still hear my dad sayin' this Words that I could show ya, time to let him know the wait is over
I remember my dad saying something important, and now it's time to fulfill his words and let him know that I'm not waiting anymore.
