In the 60's & 70's, David & the Giants were a very successful Rock 'n' Roll band, & played with many famous groups & artists such as; Styx, Black Oak Arkansas, Cheech & Chong, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Chuck Berry & Stevie Wonder to name a few. They had many regional hits including, "Ten Miles High" & "Superlove. Their drummer, Keith Thibodeaux, was the former Little Ricky on the "I Love Lucy" show. Keith would eventually leave D&G because of his decision to serve the Lord, but would later re-join the new "Christian" David & the Giants in 1979.
Born in Pineville, Mississippi, David Huff, the legendary singer/songwriter of David and the Giant's fame, is known nationwide as the premier Southern Rock pioneer of Christian music. With a collection of songs that echoed the passion of the times, David along with the presence of his brothers, created some of the classic hits of the era, such as "Here's My Heart" and "I Can't Live Without You." He and twin brothers Rayborn and Clayborn, were born into the Kingdom of God in 1977 and spent the next 20-plus years ministering in Churches and auditoriums across the United States and around the world.
Like so many before him, David struggled with how to serve God through music. Following the encouragement from a local pastor to be part of an outreach for the lost, David clearly remembers hearing the voice of God call him to share the message of the Gospel through his gift of music. David vividly recalls God saying, "...Keep on singing my song." And so he did. While David W. Huff continues his career as a solo artist, the Huff brothers do continue to perform on occasion as, David & the Giants.

Tired of thinking
Thinking the grass is greener
On the other side
I've been losing my patience
Wrong expectations
Long conversations that I
I feel like I'm missing out
Everyone leaving
Proving that time flies at the blink of an eye
If tonight I'm leaving
What am I leaving?
Am I living or letting the moment slide?
I'm choosing to love
Choose to love
Choosing to love
Righ now, right now, right now
I shouldn't wait for things to just fall in line
I shouldn't just love on loved ones when they touch the sky
I shouldn't be just grateful when good things pass by
I shouldn't waste the moment we're on
Borrowed Time
Ain't nothing changed just changed the demeanor
Few steps and the grass will get greener
One step is the first step in a journey of a thousand
You choose to get bitter or you choose to get better
You choosing the impact or choosing the cheddar?
And there ain't no chit chat when you fall under pressure
I'm choosing to love
Choose to love
Choosing to love
Righ now, right now, right now
I shouldn't wait for things to just fall in line
I shouldn't just love on loved ones when they touch the sky
I shouldn't be just grateful when good things pass by
I shouldn't waste the moment we're on
Borrowed Time
I'm choosing to love, choosing to love, choosing to love
Right now, right now, right now
I'm choosing to love, choosing to love, choosing to love
Right now, right now, right now
I'm choosing to love, choosing to love, choosing to love
Right now, right now, right now
I'm choosing to love, choosing to love, choosing to love
Right now, right now, right now
I shouldn't wait for things to just fall in line
I shouldn't just love on loved ones when they touch the sky
I shouldn't be just grateful when good things pass by
I shouldn't waste the moment we're on
Borrowed Time
The lyrics of "Borrowed Time" by David & The Giants convey a sense of self-reflection and a realization of the fleeting nature of life. The song begins with the singer expressing their weariness of constantly searching for something better and their impatience with unrealistic expectations. They feel like they are missing out on something and that everything is sinking, everyone is leaving, highlighting the transient nature of relationships and time. The line "Proving that time flies at the blink of an eye" emphasizes the rapid passing of time.
Amidst this realization, the singer acknowledges that they have a choice – they can choose to love. They recognize that they shouldn't wait for things to fall into place or show love only when loved ones achieve great things. They shouldn't take the good moments for granted and waste the time they have, considering it as borrowed. The repetition of "choosing to love right now" emphasizes the importance of embracing love and living in the present moment.
In the second verse, the lyrics delve into the idea that change can bring a difference in perspective. The grass may get greener with just a few steps, suggesting that a small shift in mindset can make a significant impact. The choice is presented again – to become bitter or better, to prioritize personal growth or material gain. The line "And there ain't no chit chat when you fall under pressure" indicates the need for action and commitment in the face of challenges.
Overall, "Borrowed Time" encourages the listener to appreciate the present, choose love, and make the most of the limited time we have in this life.
