Fuiste Mia
David Bisbal Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of David Bisbal's song Fuiste Mía explore the intense emotions that come along with falling deeply in love with someone. The singer describes his devotion to his partner, confessing that he engraved himself on her skin, exploring every inch of her until dawn. He was captivated by every look and glance she gave him, allowing himself to be drawn in, discovering that her nakedness was meant to be his. Bisbal describes how looking at her sleep after their intimate moments, he felt soothed as he stroked her skin.
The artist describes how he surrendered himself to her completely, giving her his life, his kisses, and allowing her to heal every wound he had. She belonged to him entirely, and he was full of love for her. The chorus reiterates the theme of possession and the different stages of love Bisbal went through, starting with being desperately in love with her and finally filling his heart with love for her because she was his. He admits to losing himself in her, forgetting his own identity, and becoming one with her.
In conclusion, the song's lyrics explore the feeling of being entirely consumed by love, to the point where one loses their identity in the process. Bisbal's lyrics express a metaphorical ownership of the person whom he loves, describing the intense desire to possess and protect them.
