Star
by David Bowie

Tony went to fight in Belfast
Rudi stayed at home to starve
I could make it all worthwhile
As a rock and roll star
Bevan tried to change the nation
Sonny wants to turn the world, well he can tell you that he tried
I could make a transformation as a rock and roll star

So inviting, so enticing to play the part
I could play the wild mutation
As a rock and roll star, get it on yeah

I could do with the money
I'm so wiped out with things as they are
I'd send my photograph to my honey and I'd c'mon like
A regular superstar

I could make a transformation
As a rock and roll star

So inviting, so enticing to play the part
I could play the wild mutation
As a rock and roll star, get it on yeah

I could do with the money
I'm so wiped out with things as they are
I'd send my photograph to my honey and I'd c'mon like
A regular superstar

I could fall asleep at night
As a rock and roll star
I could fall in love all right
As a rock and roll star

Rock and roll star
Rock and roll star
Just watch me now

@JohnJL 1957: I second that - as a Dave from 1958. Ziggy Stardust, my all time favourite album. To be the right age and the right disposition when this came out in 1972 was mind blowing. This album, perhaps, can only mean that much to someone born in England at the right time. Unfortunately I didn't make it all worthwhile as a rock'n'roll star, but Bowie's music is a good second. Proud to tell my mother that in my sixties I still listen to David Bowie - she doubted I would still be doing that back in 1972.

2:02 This part, gets me. I love this rendition of that theme. I wish it would go on forever.

Hi David,.
I wish you everything that you perhaps didn't have in life, that this might now find! I remember well at the time, when you've lived years in the 71ern to 73ern in Berlin. You people at that time, also, lot gave me and for that thank you I friends. I had to again think of you since your the you last tour because, yes even care had to cancel.
For me, you were one of the few exceptions have musicians who really caress me really.
Dear David, all love and good and especially to your wife! As I earlier got the message I must honestly admit that I was very concerned!
Bye and you will remain always in the minds of the people, you gave a very good feeling with your music!
And once again, I thank you and your entire family!
By David!
