Star Dream Girl
David Lynch Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Crank up that radio, let me
Tell y'all a story
They're coming from all around
Flying down that wide highway
Coming like crowds like never before
Her being the one they can't wait to see

Every night they come, to dream of her
Star dream girl, star dream girl

Crank up that radio, let me
Tell y'all a story
They're coming from all around
Flying down that wide highway
Coming like crowds like never before
Her being the one they can't wait to see

Star dream girl, star dream girl
Every night they come, to dream of her

The repetition of the phrase 'star dream girl' adds to the idea that this person is a celebrity and highly admired.

David Lynch creates the best late night driving music

Nice work David Lynch... If you were to make a feature length musical film in collaboration with Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen, the world could finally rest in peace.

@briant2492

... And , base the thing on the writings of William Burroughs?

Perfect theme song for the Root Of Evil podcast. Low fi, vocals, moody guitars that are complete with reverb and echo. With a solitary bass drum beat that sounds like somebody unwanted pounding up the stairs coming to your door. An audio David Lynch movie. I picture this being played at Ben's place in Blue Velvet.

I think I've got a pretty high tolerance to disturbing stuff, but their version of that song in combo with the content really, really, creeped me out. They had a slow version that played over openings and I had to stop listening and turn on some lights.

Damn this is awesome.... I for one am 200% behind Lynch on his tunes. It's got an unbelievably unique style and vibe that can only be his.
