He recorded with Andrew Cyrille and Cecil Taylor, and has led his own quartet since the early 1990s. Pianist Matthew Shipp and double bassist William Parker have been in Ware's quartet steadily; drummers have changed: following Marc Edwards, Whit Dickey, Susie Ibarra and Guillermo E. Brown.

Now I'm so stressed
I feel the weight bear down on me
Oh, my God
Please clean this mess
That's piled so high that I can't see
Beyond what it all means
I'm begging for that peace
Serenity beyond my feeble means
Begging for Your rest
My God, oh, won't You please
Bear my burdens so I can finally
Sleep
I can finally sleep
God, my king
Deliver me
I'm stumbling out here in the dark
God, my king
Oh hear my plea
I fear I've drifted way too far
I'm begging for that peace
That peace that makes no sense
Serenity beyond my feeble means
Begging for Your rest
My God, oh, won't You please
Bear my burdens so I can finally
Sleep
I can finally sleep
I've held on
Oh so tightly
I've held on
To plans so blindly
I've held on
Take this cup from me
I'm begging for that peace
That peace that makes no sense
Serenity beyond my feeble means
Begging for Your rest
My God, oh, won't You please
Bear my burdens so I can finally
Sleep
I can finally sleep
In David S. Ware's song "The Chase," the lyrics express a deep sense of stress, overwhelm, and a plea for divine intervention. The singer feels the weight of their burdens pressing down on them, unable to see beyond the mess that has accumulated. They seek a sense of peace and serenity that goes beyond their own limited understanding and capabilities. The repeated plea to God reflects their desire for assistance in bearing their heavy load so that they can finally find rest and sleep.
The lyrics highlight the singer's feeling of being lost and stumbling in the dark, realizing that they have strayed far from their intended path. They acknowledge their own shortcomings and limitations, seeking divine deliverance from their current state of distress. The imagery of holding on tightly to plans, only to realize their blindness, suggests a recognition of the need for surrender and a plea for relief from the burdens they have been carrying.
Overall, "The Chase" captures the essence of human struggle, the yearning for peace, and the longing for divine assistance to find rest amidst the chaos and burdens of life.

I don't think it would matter what reaction he did. Nobody is ever viewing him in terms other than "makes my blood boil" irrespective of how he conducts himself. Let me explain....
1) stays silent and shows no emotion. People would say its disgusting that he had no emotion and said nothing
2) shows emotion and regret. People would say "crocodile tears" and that he's just scared at being captured and doesn't care about the victims
3) "Hmmm" after every line. Makes peopled blood boil
4) looks down at the floor. People would say how dare he shut out the pain by avoiding eye contact
5) looks at the victims. People would say how dare he look at the victims
6) covers his ears. People would say how dare he try to shut out the pain by not listening to what he has done
7) laughs and says he isn't sorry. People would say its disgusting that he is still piling more trauma on the victims

@@RadDadisRad yep and depending on how disgusting it is you get out in your place. There are rules on the inside, or a code that’s followed. You’ll receive no respect, no sympathy and your gonna be a huge target for inmates wanting to prove themselves to the gangs on the inside.
