Having tasted fame and fortune and life as a celebrity, in October 2003 David made the shock announcement that he wanted to quit his career as a pop artist in order to concentrate full time on his songwriting. However, just six months later he made a low-key comeback as the lead-singer of indie-pop/rock band The Sham. Although they were together for less than a year the band achieved some success, releasing a single, 'Goodbye Baby' in October 2004 which, albeit briefly, topped the 7digital download chart ahead of U2 and Keane, and they appeared as one of the headline acts at the 2004/5 Hogmanay celebrations in Aberdeen, playing to a crowd of 40,000 along with Deacon Blue and Hugh and Cry.
Although never officially announcing a split, in the spring of 2005, the individual members of The Sham went their separate ways, pursuing individual projects and David returned to his 'day job', working full-time as a songwriter for other artists. To date, his most notable collaborations include: co-writer on international hit 'The Message' for critically acclaimed UK soul singer Nate James, and more recently with Julian Perretta who's debut single is due for release in August 2009.
David still performs as a solo artist occasionally, mainly at venues in the London area and is a regular at the Bedford, Regal Room and Troubadour.
In January 2007 he released a download EP entitled 'White Noise' - featuring brand new acoustic studio tracks - which, in David's own words: "Sold a sh*tload more than I thought it would". Since its release, the EP has continually hovered in and around the top 20 of the 7digital indiestore chart.
Early in 2007 David promoted the EP on the 'Lads Tour' - a mini-tour of gigs across the South of England with fellow singer/songwriters Jake Hook and Chris Townsend. The following August, he performed a series of sellout gigs at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival, as well as an impromptu appearance as a street busker with the Martians, the band he left five years earlier in 2002 prior to entering Fame Academy.
Throughout much of 2008 David wrote, played piano and gigged with Dave Gibson (another young singer/songwriter from Glasgow who has recently signed to Colombia) and in October 2008 they both performed at the ScotsCare charity gig at the Bedford in London.
In 2009 David continues to persue a career as songwriter in partnership with fellow ex-Sham member Jay Mein. The two of them recently signed a new deal with SonyATV.

David Sneddon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
They like to judge you
But you know they'll only do it from afar
You know there's something to always push you on.
Blows keep comin' at ya
Life don't seem to care for you at all
You know there's somethin' that keeps you movin' on
You keep on movin'
Now I know where I'm going
And I know where I'm coming from
Now I know where I'm going
Doesn't really matter what you say
Hit me with your best shot
Y'know I'm gonna be okay!
You're in the gutter
But there's part of you that's starin' at the stars
If they had their way you'd be singing on the street and working bars
Then they're on your side
You can do no wrong
If they don't hurt you now
How come you use them for another song??
Your eyes are open now
You know what to believe
And suddenly it's all about that song and pulling on a sleeve...!
Now I know where I'm going
And I know where I'm coming from
Now I know where I'm going
Doesn't really matter what you say
Hit me with your best shot
Y'know I'm gonna be okay-ay-ay...
Okay...
Now I know where I'm going
And I know where I'm coming from
Now I know where I'm going
Doesn't really matter what you say
Hit me with your best shot
Y'know I'm gonna be okay!
Now I know where I'm going
And I know where I'm coming from
Now I know where I'm going
Doesn't really matter what you say
Hit me with your best shot
Y'know I'm gonna be okay!
In David Sneddon's song "OK," the lyrics depict the struggles and challenges that a person might face in their journey towards success. The lyrics refer to the difficulty of convincing others of one's true identity and talent, as others are quick to judge and often only do so from a distance. Despite these struggles, the song suggests that there is always something driving a person forward, even when it may seem like life doesn't care for them at all.
The chorus of the song provides a sense of clarity and determination, as the singer claims to know where they are coming from and where they are going. The lyrics suggest that it doesn't matter what others may say or do, as the person singing the song is confident in their ability to handle any challenges that may come their way.
Overall, "OK" can be interpreted as a song about perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity. The lyrics acknowledge the challenges that many people face in trying to pursue their dreams and achieve success, but also offer a sense of hope and optimism, encouraging listeners to keep moving forward no matter what obstacles they may encounter.
