Hold On
David Versis Lyrics

(Repeated Throughout)
Hold on

Yeah
Lemme speak to 'em

Uh
I ain't tryin' to boast here, wanna make a toast here
Just to all of those still standing with me when the smoke clears
Once the coast clear, I put the Vandals on
I put my sandals on, Chillin' where the coast clear
So I need to know are we drinkin' or what?
'Cause I'm like Lent to these bitches, they keep givin' it up
And it's strange, though
'Cause when I go out and I'm dressed up
All I see is dollar signs burned inside they retinas
And it don't make sense, 'cause I ain't got a cent on me
But they don't got sense, so I let 'em put they scent on me
You might find me in a West Coast place with some fresh Rosé
Hangin' out at the best parties
But I need to know what's it all for?
Round of four shots, penthouse, homie, top floor
I guess I'm just a young gun tryin' to soak it in
Big shoes to fill, I'ma get these bitches broken in
And these days, I'm sleepin' light upon my pillowcase
'Cause I'd be lyin' if I told you I was feelin' great
And so I'm scrollin' down my contact list
At a quarter past six, tryin' to figure out who still awake
'Cause I need someone I can vent to
To tell me something that I can't do
I'm feelin' like a Renaissance man
Never out, but out is how I got it all planned
So I tell 'em

I'm just tryin' to be the best right now
Gotta get this off my chest right now
I keep hearing these voices
They keep on talkin'
They keep on tellin' me
That I should hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Take all the time you need

Lookin' at the Vandals like they couldn't be a better crew
Blowin' money 'cause that's what the hip-hop manual said to do
Waitin' for things to pan out, but they never do
'Cause they couldn't account for what the thoughts in his head'd do
And to those in my city, I ain't upset with you
Look at what I done for you, look at what I did for you
Passing up on me is a thought that'll have to live with you
The fact that I'd be dead for you is something you're indebted to
Uh, now I'm just doin' what I'm meant to do
Stackin' up cash and pocketing a cent or two
Pavin' my own avenue, workin' on my revenue
Have 'em wonderin' what happened to the boy they never knew
Uh, just know we ten steps ahead of you
Killin' every muhfuckin' track that he steppin' to
Now who you steppin' to? Big fish in a big pond
I used to write raps, now I write songs
I used to light firecrackers, now I light bombs
I buy clothes like it ain't even got a price on
I gotta tell you, it feels good
It hasn't happened quite yet, but it still could
And one day, when I do make it
And they ask me if I'd do it again
I still would
So my patience is nothin' close to an overstatement
But for now, all I'm hearin' are these voices sayin'

I'm just tryin' to be the best right now
Gotta get this off my chest right now
I keep hearing these voices
They keep on talkin'
They keep on tellin' me
That I should hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Take all the time you need

My girl said, "Versis, there ain't nobody like you
And that might be the only reason they don't like you"
So for now, I'm just focused on my latitude
White boy with an attitude, cooler than an ice cube
I am fly like an airline, you better believe
My grind's like a hairline that never recedes
I balled, though, showed you all the tricks in my sleeve
I used to run my mouth for fun, now they beg me to breathe
Remember when I used to stay back in detention
My teacher lecturin' me, sayin' I should pay attention
I told them that I want to make music my profession
They just laughed and say "How you gonna get a job without a pension?"
Got no pension, just benefits
No politicin' bitch, just presidents
And this right here, this is evidence
That anything they ever told me had no relevance
Chillin' with the four horsemen, my flow's pestilence
Comin' soon, Vandals in the room, dawg, elephants
Who you know who flow with this much eloquence?
I flipped it on 'em, raised hell, it's been heaven since
And people that I've known from times before
Were busy sharpenin' up swords and pointin' 'em to my spinal cord
So this right here is a reminder for
Anybody tryin' to bring bull up in my china store

I'm just tryin' to be the best right now
Gotta get this off my chest right now
I keep hearing these voices
They keep on talkin'
They keep on tellin' me
That I should hold on
Hold on
Hold on

Hold on
Take all the time you need

The trial of the century

Produced by Dr Dre

Some men walk the walk
As our crowd applies

The curtain rises as our jester enters: if you criticize me
You criticize science

A woman now lays in bed with child
Knowing even her hero abandoned her
To join a war that yeah they fucking wanted
As now our merry band of travellers
Nod their hat to lancelot

Or musketeers: I'd he's our church choir
Then even one angel cried that night
Ronnie realized his life was over. As medlen must acknowledge
It was for and him only

#I shall rise

Yeah ron, I'm with ghosts who don't even know what entrapment means
As even violet got to pee without being arrested

But as boomers know best

Theyre entitled to it

So enjoy their Healthcare and routines
As even I now teach the world
You don't want this shit
Taxes are unavoidable
But fuck we fought against tyranny too

The fsthers of this country

As ben reminds them
Ven I sat with the savages Tom
And yes yeshua
Even mary breastfed her child
Knowing those savages are now forced to have babies who can't even enjoy their own milk

@Sara raa Now we are taking the question elsewhere which is if Fauci is right or if Rand is right. That was not the purpose of my original comment. My original comment is about the stupidity of interrupting someone all the time if you have asked a question. It is in no ones interest if you want to seek the truth. Because of this, Rand is not interested in listening to Fauci's answers. He is just interested of slamming accusations out and to make the hearing be dominated in his favor like Trump do when he is debating. If Rand's interest was to actually seek the truth, then a skilled interrogator/investigator/journalist/(anyone skilled in asking questions) would make logical follow up questions to the answers that was just given. This is not what Rand does. He keeps on slamming the same accusations out, drop loose comments, and disturb in order to distract Fauci during his answers to make him look guilty or weak.

Your new example of how the kid should respond is EXACTLY what Fauci does. The only difference is that you believe what Fauci says is false and in this example the kid is speaking the truth. If Fauci spoke the truth, he is following your latest example perfectly. If he is lying, it would make sense to answer in this way too because it would (according to you) be the best honest way of responding. So... then the question is solely about if Fauci is honest or not - Which again, is not the purpose of my original comment.

My view: I don't advocate/promote stuff out of speculation and feeling. I am reflecting critical to everything I see or hear. Because of that, I can only speculate in this topic. However what I am very sure of, is how people function psychologically in these circumstances.

This is not something I can prove or have time to prove but I have studied it. Feelings are what motivates people, once the feeling of something unfair is stuck, it is extremely hard to change someone's mind. People speculate. They speculate in groups. Rumors gets transferred fast. Once a speculation and a rumor is out, people seek confirmation bias to support their beliefs without being critical enough of it. People think they are not one of the horde because they stick out and criticise the government/system but they are absolutely one of the horde, it is just in another horde of people. Then they fight their beliefs togheter on maximum power to strenghten it. This is a part of group psychology and other psychological factors.

Taking this to Fauci's case. I believe that the "proof" you are talking about is not something that is solid enough. There are too many factors that people don't take into account in this. Secondly, a lot of answers Fauci gives is something that uneducated people in this field doesn't understand and instead label it as "indirect speech/mislead/deceive". However Rand's question can't be answered directly as I responded earlier and he can't answer in a simple manner because it is extremely complex and if you are not a doctor in this field it is impossible to make a clear nonpartisan judgement of this. Knowing if he is actually misleading the answers requires someone to be in the same field and have studied all the available materials. I believe that Fauci hasn't done everything right, or answered all questions well. But I don't think he has done a such severe mistake or wrongdoing to be labelled as responsible for the pandemic. I think he has done what can be expected of a person in his position. In his position, you have to think a bit political too. I don't mean taking political sides but to analyse your decisions carefull with respect of short, medium and long term effect of people's health. This is a very difficult and fine line between keeping order and to fight the pandemic the best way possible while also be legitimate.

Sounds more like Trump lol

What you have to do is convince them that they will gain more by not doing something than by doing it. They understand that. Other's opinions don't compute with them. They're interested in controlling people, not understanding them.

Rand is a sham

@Midnight Light True to form. When you can’t argue logic, you go right into the name calling. We don’t have to call you for what you are, you already announce it with your actions. Again, like a true Trump cultist, you are true to form.
