Dillinger, like many of his peers, signed record deals with Death Row after being introduced to Dr. Dre by Warren G just as Dre began recording his seminal 1992 album, The Chronic. Dillinger contributed to The Chronic as well as his cousin Snoop Doggy Dogg's multi-platinum Doggystyle , Tupac Shakur's All Eyez on Me and the majority of the label's multi-platinum releases.
He released his first album Dogg Food with Kurupt as Tha Dogg Pound which went multi-platinum continuing Death Row's force as the most successful hiphop label. After Dr. Dre left the label, Daz became Death Row's main producer and was largely involved in Snoop's sophomore album Tha Doggfather and various compilations and soundtracks. After the death of Tupac Shakur, the departures of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Nate Dogg and the imprisonment of label CEO Suge Knight, Daz was the only major artist left on Death Row and mainly responsible for the work done in the label. In 1998 he released his solo-offering Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back for the first time using the more commercial-friendly artist name Daz Dillinger and even though the album reached gold status it was considered to be a commercial failure for the still high standards established by Death Row's previous releases.
Around 2000 Daz left the crumbling Death Row records and started his own imprint DPG Recordz. He released his second solo-album 2000's R.A.W. independently. Although the album didn't reach the success of his Death Row releases the album gained cult status in the underground West Coast rap scene. After that, Daz has kept on his business as CEO of his record label and has released several EP's and LP's with his name.
In 2002 Daz and his long time friend Kurupt parted ways because the latter rejoined Death Row and Daz's "arch-enemy" Suge Knight. Since that Daz and Kurupt have each released several dis records aimed at each other.
On April 13, 2005, Daz reunited with Kurupt through the peace meeting labelled "Protect the West", in which several other West Coast rap icons united to put aside their differences in hope of succeeding together.
Daz released an album on Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label titled 'So So Gangsta ' which's was released September 12, 2006

Hey! What the fuck is up!
You know what time it is up in this BEITCH!
Dat, Nigga, DAZZZZZZZZZZ
[Chorus:]
What'chu know (what'chu know) about that (about that) [x3]
... about that, what'chu know about that
[Daz Dillinger:]
When you see me comin nigga, you know it's not a dream
Get your guns out, blast at your motherfuckin team
Fuck a triple beam, it's digital now
I'm a real gangsta nigga, come check my profile
Chop it up, chop it up, chop up the work (work)
Everybody 'round here goin all berzerk (zerk)
Check him on the chirp, get a quote for it
Whether they rock it up, or the fiends snort it
Either way I'm a stay paid, whether or not
'Til then I'm a knock the hardest nigga on your block
Your homeboy got knocked out
The young niggaz 'round us, that's what they about (about)
We get [? ], get that, we die and we multiply
West coast, niggaz yeah we ride
Ride and let it slide, [? ]
Motherfuckers out when we both collide, all y'all know
[Chorus x2]
[Daz Dillinger:]
What'chu know about six-fo' dippin (dippin)
What'chu know about West coast rippin (WEST COAST~!)
What'chu know about a nigga on the grind
What'chu know about a nigga when he shine
What'chu know about gettin yo' ass beatdown
All the way down to the motherfuckin ground
What'chu know about cappin a rat
What'chu know about stackin them stacks
Tell me somethin different, I'll tell you wrong
Niggaz don't last long, niggaz gotta stay strong
This what I know, I'm back in the game
Since I peeped game, shit won't be the same
Don't you know about packin them gats (brrrrrrrrap)
Don't you know about bustin a cap
Don't you know about D-A-Z
Motherfucker, you know I'm from the D-P-G
[Chorus x2]
[Daz Dillinger:]
Well I was walkin down the street boppin my head to the beat
While my JVC's vibrate the concrete
Dank fell out of my pocket and I picked it back up
The policeman said FREEZE, put your hands up
What'd I do, I think about that and I bust back
Fuck that, get this pig capped
Dippin down the boulevard, whippin and I'm hittin cars
Diggy Daz the rap star, up for a murder charge
In cell, [? ]
What a fuckin threat, yo a nigga's soakin wet
What about it, you know I'm stuck between a hard rock
Me and the cop, or bein free just to rule the block
A lesson to be learned, the weak get burned
Whatever you didn't earn'll turn back on yo' ass when it turns
Now quit it I admit it that I didn't did it
If I admit it I wouldn't be acquitted
[Chorus x2]
In Daz Dillinger's song About That, he asserts his credentials as a real gangsta by detailing his activities in the hood. He is unapologetic about his lifestyle, using his gangsta attitude to intimidate his opponents. Daz begins the song by challenging anyone who stands in his way, saying that he is not a dream and that he is ready to take on his rivals. He boasts that he is not afraid of anyone, and if they come at him with guns, he will face them head-on. With the advent of digital weighing scales, he now measures his drugs in exact amounts, and he urges his crew to work hard to chop up the work. Daz Dillinger further explains that his team operates in various areas around the hood, selling drugs to eager clientele. Despite his criminal activities, he stays paid, always knocking out the hardest nigga from the block, a testament to his gangsta ways.
In the chorus, Daz Dillinger repeats the phrase "What'chu know about that" thrice, to emphasize that he is the real deal and that he knows the game better than anyone else. He concludes every verse with the same phrase, presumably urging his opponents to take a closer look at his credentials and ultimately deem him the one and only gangsta in the hood. In the third verse, Daz Dillinger details the various activities he indulges in, including Six-Fo' (a type of car) dipping, stacking his money, and capping his rivals. Even when the police catch him with drugs, he is unafraid, willing to shoot them down if they come at him. The song is an excellent testament to Daz Dillinger's world, a place where the strong survive, and the weak get burned.
