Enjoy The Silence
De Saloon & Lucybell Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Enjoy the silence

Overall Meaning

De Saloon & Lucybell's cover of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence" is a song about the power of actions over words. The opening lines, "Words like violence, break the silence, come crashing in, into my little world," illustrate how words can be painful and intrusive. The singer feels that words are unnecessary, can only do harm, and that they are meaningless and forgettable. The repeated refrain, "All I ever wanted, all I ever needed, is here in my arms" suggests that physical connection and intimacy are more valuable than words.

The second verse, "Vows are spoken, to be broken, feelings are intense, words are trivial, pleasures remain, so does the pain, words are meaningless, and forgettable," echoes the same sentiment. The singer feels that promises and declarations are empty, and that feelings are too complex to be reduced to mere words. Pleasure and pain coexist in the same space and are intertwined, but words cannot capture this complexity.

Overall, "Enjoy The Silence" is a song about the limitations of language and the importance of physical connection and intimacy.

Siendo profesora de inglés puedo decirles que la pronunciación está bastante bien, lo que tal vez hace que suene "extraño" es la entonación que le pone. Sin embargo el cover quedó espectacular! Muy sentida la interpretación

@davidandrade951

Gracias. pensé q hablar tan cargado es modular los sonidos del Español y no la fonética inglesa...

@NacholympicTV

Yo también encuentro que el inglés esta muy bien... no son nativos!!!! no pueden sonar igual... pero muy bien! Somos colegas.... (quien critica no debe ni saber el BE)

@heikem.3594

@NachoFarias80Exactamente! No tiene sentido destruirlo, no es un hablante nativo. Y a pesar de eso, los sonidos de la lengua no están errados... Completamente de acuerdo con vos, un saludo, colega!
