Move For Me
Deadmau5 (Feat. Kaskade) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Another night out, another dance floor
Another night out, another dance floor
Another night out, another dance floor
(Move for you)
Another night out, another dance floor

Here we go, another night out
Waited all week just to get out
Where do we come from, do I know your name?
Doesn't really matter, in this life we're all the same

Move for me, I'll move for you
Move for me, I'll move for you
Move for me, I'll move for you
Move for me, I'll move for you

A DJ a light show
Speakers putting up, as we go
This way and that way, getting past the night
Doesn't really matter, in this life we're all the same

Move for you, I'll move for you
Move for me, I'll move for you
Move for me, I'll move for you

Another night out, another dance floor
Another night out, another dance floor
Another night out, another dance floor
(Move for me)
Another night out, another dance floor
(Move for me)

Another night out, another dance floor
(Move for me, I'll move for you)
Another night out, another dance floor

(Move for me, I'll move for you)
Another night out, another dance floor

Overall Meaning

Deadmau5 and Kaskade's hit song "Move For Me" celebrates life's simple pleasures, specifically the joy of going out and dancing. The song begins with the repetition of the first two lines, "Another night out, another dance floor," emphasizing the exhilaration and excitement of going out with friends to dance. As the song progresses, the lyrics express the experience of living in the moment, with the sentiment that it doesn't matter where one comes from or their name, as everyone is the same on the dance floor. The chorus repeats the phrase "Move for me, I'll move for you," which creates a sense of togetherness and shared experience between the dancers and the music.

The lyrics also mention the DJ and light show, as well as the powerful sound system and the different paths dancers take as they move through the night. The song captures the feeling of freedom and release that comes with dancing, while also alluding to the idea that the night is a temporary escape from the mundane, everyday life. "Move For Me" encourages the listener to take a break from reality and enjoy the present moment with others.

I used to listen to this on repeat for years in HS and Uni and then had lost this song over 10 years ago

My heart wants to jump out of my chest with how much joy hearing this again brings me

All the memories of driving, dancing & time spent with friends during this era is FLOODING back to me right now

We were so unbelievably blessed to have music like this come out in the 2000s-2010s; they truly don't make it like they used to - this stuff touches my soul on such a deep level

I hope newer artists are able to bring back this level of soul connection to music again cuz the new generation NEEDS to know what it fucking feels like to have your heart strings tugged by nostalgic tracks like this

Man. You said it. The nostalgia is so real. It’s almost as if I didn’t have to drive into my office this morning hahaha. What happened to those midday calls from people I barely knew asking me to come play beer pong?!?! Being 34 is so lame hahahaha
