What to Do
Death Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wake up in the morning
In a mess, yet so pretty at night
What a feeling, what a sight
Wondering around, drinking pints
And playing games
In the morning, will I feel the same?
Will I be myself again?
What shall we do?
I've got to keep moving on
You like to move too
But not for too long
You like talking too
Now, what shall we do?
And where shall we go?
Let's fly somewhere
For some time
Or just for one night
What shall we do?
I've got to keep moving on
You like to move too
But not for too long
I, can't keep still
I, can't stay in one place
I, have gotta keep moving on
I, am always displaced
What shall we do?
I've got to keep moving on

You like to move too
But not for too long

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Death's song "What to Do" capture a sense of restlessness and constant motion. The singer wakes up in the morning feeling messy but beautifully chaotic from the previous night's adventures. There is a sense of uncertainty about how they will feel and whether they will be able to find themselves again after embracing the night's revelry. The repetition of "What shall we do?" highlights a desire for action and movement, a need to keep pushing forward and avoiding stagnation.

The lyrics also touch on the theme of companionship and shared experiences. The singer acknowledges the need to keep moving forward but also acknowledges the presence of someone else who also enjoys moving, albeit not for too long. There is a sense of connection and camaraderie in their shared movement, talking, and desire to explore new places together. The uncertainty of where to go and what to do reflects a sense of spontaneity and a willingness to embrace the unknown.

The repeated affirmations of "I've got to keep moving on" emphasize the singer's restless nature and their discomfort with staying still or remaining in one place for too long. The feeling of displacement and the inability to settle down are conveyed through the repeated declarations of needing to keep moving. This constant motion reflects a deeper internal struggle or a yearning for something beyond their current circumstances.

Overall, the lyrics of "What to Do" by Death encapsulate a sense of restless energy, a longing for movement and exploration, and a search for connection and purpose. There is a tension between the desire for spontaneity and the need for direction, as the singer grapples with their own sense of self and their place in the world. The song invites listeners to reflect on the balance between embracing change and seeking stability, and the importance of companionship and shared experiences in navigating life's uncertainties.

If you have a relative without much assets, and just some cash, furniture, a care...you needn't do a damn thing other than the disposition of the remains. In some cases, if you donate to science or cremate - you are looking at no more than zero to $500.

This assumes a vehicle, or two, have been titled in more than one name so that vehicle can be retained or sold if so desired. Regarding debts. Many people have no debts, and especially the elderly. No one is responsible for the debts of a relative unless you owned assets jointly.

If a person has sizable assets, a Living Trust may be useful, and a pour-over Will. Homes can be gifted up to a certain value.

Watch out for the pharmaceutical-medical industries. They aggressively look for money to pay their bills. Thus, if person elderly, you want them to be as poor as possible at time of death.

Just want to stop by and say thank you for taking the time to do this for people. What a generous thing to do. It's so helpful. I transcribed everything down and printed it for my family in case i die before them. And I wrote down all the phone numbers they need to get through each item. I really appreciate you and if i lived in your state i would definitely seek your counsel just bc of your thoughtfulness in helping others. Take care and thanks again.

This video was extremely helpful. I live in NJ and now that we've had my father's memorial mass we have to get to take these steps and while daunting, your video made it digestible. Thank you.

Let me tell you the trouble of contacting the bank right away…I went in with the Death Certificate to close my husbands business account. Luckily there wasn’t much money in there because before I notified them, I had taken money out. They immediately put a suspension on the account and said that in order for me to access any of the money, I also had to get an Affidavit from a lawyer or courthouse. They didn’t even tell me what the Affidavit was suppose to say.
They then locked up any on-line information I could get from any of my 4 accounts there. Even my personal account which had my husbands name on it also.
I thought this was terrible! Life was hard enough at that moment without the added stress of wondering where I was financially. I wanted to be calm and nice but direct. The manager started giving excuses of why they wrongfully did that. I told her that I should have been informed of their policy, as every person who has lost a loved one, before I left the bank that day instead of finding my accounts locked up when I got home. When she kept giving excuses, that’s when I got heated. No widow or widower should have to go through that! She finally apologized. This shows me that I WILL NOT be putting my husband Life Insurance money in that bank. Maybe it was a sign.
