In 2007, the release of Count Me In established Death Before Dishonor on a whole new level. Their penchant for diverse songwriting in a genre often pegged for repetition, Count Me In was praised-often by press who admittedly didn’t expect it, with Punknews saying “it's impossible to not get caught up in their level of intensity.” If that wasn’t enough, by debuting on Billboard’s Heatseekers, Independent Albums & Top New Artists charts and staying there for four weeks, DBD proved that the kids are listening. Their video for “Break Through It All” was in rotation on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball for over three months, and yet, people were still passing by Death Before Dishonor. DBD headlined tours nationwide and ended 2007 on the coveted Persistence Tour in Europe-headlined by Hatebreed, Agnostic Front & Ignite, and they haven’t stopped.
2008 has shown DBD supporting Count Me In all over the world including Australia, Europe, Great Britain, Mexico and Canada as well as the United States. This year proves to be the busiest for DBD and they show no sign of stopping anytime soon.

Death Before Dishonor Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Diseased we are diseased
We've always been
We're just the joke
The joke of existence
But still we try as if there was an end
Through blood we made
As if we were perfect
Will choke us in our sleep
I've given in to all of my demons
I can't be helped it's up to me
Every time I close my eyes
I'm dwelling on the follow times
My regrets won't let me rest
It's killing me with every step
Every step I regret
INFECTED were condemned to die
INFECTED cut always this life
The lyrics of Death Before Dishonor's song Infected speaks to the idea of the world being diseased and its people being infected with their own existence. The world is put upon a pedestal, glorified by its inhabitants, but in reality, it's infested with issues that they can't seem to shake off. The lines "We've always been / we're just the joke / The joke of existence" paints a picture of how humans are foolishly trying to make sense of this chaotic world when in reality, things are not perfect nor will they ever be. In essence, they are a big joke, trying to make their existence count.
The lines "Through blood we made / As if we were perfect / Someday the blood / Will choke us in our sleep" suggest the idea of people being responsible for their own demise. By thinking of themselves as perfect, they blindly follow through with their decisions not realizing that one day, their own choices will choke them to death. The last lines of the song "INFECTED - we're condemned to die / INFECTED - cut away this life" is a realization of their flawed existence. The world as they know it is diseased, the people cannot be helped, and the only way out is to cut away this life.
Overall, the lyrics of Infected speaks to the idea of people being their own downfall. Through their actions, they have infected the world with their flawed existence, and it is now taking its toll on them.
