Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Death Grips's song "Fuck That" are typically difficult to interpret, given the experimental nature of the band's music. However, a few themes and ideas can be discerned from the song. Throughout the lyrics, there are references to violence, power, and resistance. The lines "Slit throat, cut creator/Hung from dem nail" suggest an act of violence, with the "cut creator" potentially being a reference to a rapper or music producer. The "dem nail" might suggest a crucifixion or execution, with the victim hanging from a nail.

The next lines contain references to power and agency with "Savior faire/Trans-siberian epic/Trek through dat next switch/Set it off the roglyphic/Jackal headed dawn of the under". The phrase "Savior faire" suggests the sense of control and power the singer is wielding, while the "Trans-siberian epic" may indicate a difficult journey or challenge. The phrase "Jackal headed dawn of the under" suggests the metaphorical dawn of a new era or power structure, with the singer prepared to take on and change the existing order.

The chorus is a straightforward exclamation of defiance and resistance with the line "Fuck that, naw fuck that," repeated twice. This could be interpreted as the singer rejecting the status quo or anything that they see as weak or insufficient. The final lines of "Fuck That" repeat themes of violence and resistance. Phrases like "Stompin mu sick as fuck contagion" and "Arrested cardiac/Black mass murder rap" resonate with anger and victimization. Overall, the lyrics to "Fuck That" suggest the desire to take control, resist, and upset existing orders.

Line by Line Meaning

Third rail
Starting off with an edgy warning, this line tells of danger with the mention of a potentially lethal high voltage source known as the third rail.

Over one nine breaker
The second line suggests a continued risk-taking as the singer is now over (or past) a specific kind of circuit breaker that is rated at 19 kiloamperes. It's another indication of a high-energy, dangerous environment.

Slit throat, cut creator
Here the singer is presumably boasting about their violent prowess as a 'cut creator', or someone who makes deep cuts or incisions, e.g. potentially slitting someone's throat. This line sets a brutal tone for what's to come.

Hung from dem nail
This line can be understood as a violent threat to hang someone by a nail, while the non-standard spelling ('dem') and phonetic emphasis on 'hung' add to the song's aggressive, chaotic vibe.

Hang em high
Continuing the violent theme, the artist commands for someone to be hanged high, with the potential implication of being publicly displayed as a warning to others.

Savior faire
A sharp turn in tone from the previous lines, this phrase suggests a level of worldly sophistication, expertise, or poise -- perhaps a sarcastic commentary on how anyone can act calm and collected despite the chaos around them.

Trans-siberian epic
This line is a reference to the Trans-Siberian Railway, a massive train route that crosses most of Russia and is known for its arduousness and desolate landscapes. It's a fitting image for the song's intense, long-winding journey.

Trek through dat next switch
Here the artist encourages themselves to keep moving forward despite the obstacles ahead, as if they are running through a maze or an electrified field.

Set it off the roglyphic
This line is a bit more ambiguous, but could be interpreted as igniting or unlocking some sort of hidden or ancient writing system, perhaps suggesting that the artist is tapping into some kind of primal or mystical power.

Jackal headed dawn of the under
This line combines various mythological elements, with the jackal (a carnivorous mammal found in Africa and Asia) being a common symbol of death or decay, and 'dawn of the under' suggesting that the artist is heralding some kind of dark underworld or afterlife.

Check it, check one check
A nod to hip-hop culture, this line could be seen as either a literal request to check the sound equipment, or a more figurative call to attention. It's a reminder that amidst all the chaos, the singer still wants to be heard.

You can suck it
Another aggressive line, this one could be interpreted as the artist telling their detractors to 'suck it up' or deal with their uncompromising attitude. It's confrontational and disdainful.

'Til I get disgusted
The final line of the first verse sets up a repetition of the song's title phrase, but adds a twist of disgust. The singer is so fed up with something (perhaps life and/or society in general?) that they are already at a breaking point.

Fuck that, naw fuck that
The chorus is a simple, emphatic rejection of whatever has upset the singer. The repetition of 'fuck that' reinforces their strong feelings, as does the drawled out 'naw' that suggests they won't back down.

At me wit that weak shit
The second verse begins with an insult aimed at someone who is giving the singer a hard time. The phrase 'wit that weak shit' suggests that whatever criticism or opposition they are experiencing is not worthy of their time or attention.

Bitch slapped
Another violent action, this one is more specific and literal: someone is getting slapped (presumably a woman, given the gendered insult). The phrase 'bitch slapped' adds a layer of vulgarity and contempt.

Across the street and back.. head crack
The artist casually describes a physical attack that involves crossing a street or other boundary, and then inflicting damage (specifically, cracking someone's head). The usage of ellipses adds to a sense of nonchalance and unpredictability.

Wanna know where I'll be at whatever
This line could be seen as the singer turning the tables and being cryptic or elusive in response to whatever question or threat was just offered. It's a bold show of defiance and disregard for consequences.

Get off mine I got that juice
Here the singer brags about having some kind of power or influence, as if they are the one in charge of the situation. The line 'get off mine' suggests that someone is trying to encroach on their territory or interfere with their plans.

Noo style cut your brain stem as my combat boots grind your head to the cadence of this dreath
By this point, the artist has fully embraced the violent language and imagery, describing a gruesome attack that involves slicing someone's brain stem while simultaneously stomping on their head in time with the music (the 'cadence of this dreath'). The line is complex and multisyllabic, adding to the song's overall intensity.

Stompin mu sick as fuck contagion wagin war with all you knew bitch
This line continues the violent, disease-ridden imagery of the previous line, with the artist describing themselves as an infectious agent or 'sick as fuck contagion' that is at war with everyone around them ('all you knew'). The phrase 'wagin war with' suggests an all-out conflict, rather than a simple disagreement.

Mossberg ballistic flux massive
This line sounds like a phrase from a military handbook or action movie, but is actually a reference to a type of shotgun (the Mossberg 590), and the 'ballistic flux' is likely a nod to the type of ammunition it uses. The line is another example of the artist's fascination with violence and weaponry.

My shure beta 58a hazmatted
Here the singer name-drops a specific model of microphone (the Shure Beta 58a), but adds the unexpected adjective 'hazmatted', which suggests that the equipment is being used in a toxic or polluted environment. The line feels deliberately cryptic and disjointed.

Pump pump slugster radioactive
Continuing the theme of dangerous weaponry, the artist describes a 'slugster' (a type of shotgun shell) that is radioactive, adding to its lethality. The repetition of 'pump pump' suggests a sense of excitement or anticipation.

Ride through a mine field
A mine field is a notoriously deadly and unstable environment, and the singer seems to be daring themselves (or someone else) to ride through it -- as if this is just another obstacle they are eager to overcome.

Laced wit black magic
The final line of the third verse hints at the singer's mystical or supernatural powers by suggesting they have somehow infused their weapons or environment with black magic. It's another example of the singer's seeming invincibility.

Straight from the mayday
Notably, this line lacks the profanity or violence of the rest of the lyrics. Instead, it draws on the international distress signal 'mayday', creating a sense of urgency or crisis. It's a relatively calm moment amidst the chaos.

Naw fuck that (ONE)
The phrase 'naw fuck that' repeats from the chorus, again emphasizing the artist's uncompromising attitude. The appended word 'ONE' is somewhat mysterious; it could be seen as another reference to hip-hop (e.g. a count-in like 'one, two, three'), or something else entirely.

Broke off its axis, polar shifted granite
This line is metaphorical and somewhat cryptic. The artist suggests that something (perhaps the world or some other axis) has been broken and shifted, using the seemingly non-sequitur example of granite (a type of rock). The line feels ominous and strangely prophetic.

Knock made ta off
This line is even more opaque, with the singer describing something that is presumably knocked off, but unclear what exactly. The phrase 'made ta off' is deliberately mangled and inexplicable, perhaps suggesting that something has been lost in translation or communication.

Every last bitch on this planet
The singer's vitriol returns in full force with this line, which aims to insult and denigrate all women on Earth. It's a brutal statement that seems designed to shock and appall.

Came ta bad dem brains 'til dem neck bones crack
Continuing with the violent imagery, the artist describes an attack that involves damaging someone's neck bones, with the phrase 'bad dem brains' perhaps suggesting that this is a psychological as well as physical assault. The non-standard spelling of 'bad' and 'dem' suggests a sense of anger or frustration.

Arrested cardiac
Here the artist describes causing someone's heart to stop or malfunction, as if they are inducing cardiac arrest through some kind of attack. The line is both violent and medical, adding to the song's sense of chaos and unpredictability.

Black mass murder rap
The final line of the fourth verse is another stark and brutal image: a 'black mass' (presumably a satanic ritual) that involves murder. The phrase 'murder rap' adds to the sense of danger and lawlessness, and also references the song's genre (rap).

Dealer push your wig
The final verse continues the pattern of violence and criminality, with the singer suggesting someone is selling drugs ('dealer') and threatening to 'push their wig' (a fairly graphic image that suggests violence towards the head).

All the way back
This line is a bit more cryptic, but could be interpreted as referring to taking someone all the way back to where they started or who they used to be, as if the artist is trying to undo something or seek revenge.

Head wear your face like a yamakulapse
In the final moment of the song, the singer returns to the theme of graphic physical violence, describing a gruesome fate where someone's face is worn as if it were a mask. The portmanteau 'yamakulapse' is unexplained, but could be a combination of the words 'yarmulke' (a type of Jewish head covering) and 'collapse', referencing the chaotic and destructive nature of the song.

Never can tell Where you're at
The final two lines of the song suggest a sense of confusion and uncertainty, as if the singer is unsure of their own location or the state of their reality. The repetition of 'never can tell' adds to the sense that anything could happen at any moment.

I think the reason why people dislike this song and consider it the "worst" song off of the album is because it sounds completely different from the other songs and it has its own kind of flow to it, along with doing that it breaks up the pase of the album.
