By her third album in 1990, Anything Is Possible, Gibson’s chart fortunes were diminishing; only the lead single, the album’s title track, made any headway, peaking at #26. It would be her final U.S. top 40 entry. She shed the wholesome teen image for 1993’s Body, Mind, Soul, and later appeared in a Playboy magazine pictorial. Despite her diminished profile, another seven albums followed between 1995 and 2022. In 2006, she reached # 24 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart with "Say Goodbye,” a duet with Jordan Knight. Gibson has also had starring roles on Broadway and touring musicals, including playing Eponine in Les Misérables and Sandy in Grease, as well as television and independent film work.

I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
I'm under a spell again
Boy, I'm wondering why
This is not a game of love but
An emotional tie
I'm trying to figure out my heart (heart..)
But I can't offer you proof
Of why we should never be apart
And that is the (that is the ) that is the truth
Oh!
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Do you know why I stop and stare
And smile when you walk by
And how I call you up at night
I hang up the phone and I cry
If I never got to know you so well (I knew you well)
Maybe I would be fine
Baby you know that I can't tell
Why you should be (you should be)
you should be mine, Oh!
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Ooh, I know what you're thinkin'
I see it in your eyes
You want to give our love another try
I'm so glad you realize I can't...
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake it
Your love
Can't shake
Just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake....Say shake it!
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
The song "Shake Your Love" by Debbie Gibson is a catchy pop song that deals with the confusion and struggles of unrequited love. The song's chorus, "Shake your love, I just can't shake your love," expresses the idea that the singer cannot let go of the person they love no matter how hard they try.
In the first verse, the singer admits that she is under a spell, wondering why she can't get over her emotional tie to this person. She is trying to figure out her heart but can't offer any proof of why they should never be apart. The truth is, she just can't shake her love for this person.
In the second verse, the singer confesses to calling the person late at night and crying when she hangs up the phone. She knows that if she never got to know this person so well, maybe she would be fine. But now that she does, she can't shake the love she feels for them.
Overall, "Shake Your Love" is a fun and upbeat song that deals with the complexities of love and heartache. It speaks to anyone who has ever been unable to let go of someone they love.

I'm not sure if the young 'uns here on YouTube realize this, but Debbie Gibson wrote and produced every single one of her hit songs herself and was already touring at age 16 while graduating high school with honors. She had a ridiculously long string of Top Ten hits in the US in the late 80's off of two back to back albums and actually won Billboard's Songwriter of the Year along with Bruce Springsteen in 1989. Her song Foolish Beat also made her the youngest female ever to write, produce, and perform a US Billboard number-one single. Geez, overachieve much? :)
