Had a few lil vibes they ain’t do it for me
In my top three but you ain’t 2 or 3
No no noooo
Typa shit we let em ask won’t speak
You a little freak
Yeah yeah yeah
Keep it lowkey
Would never know that you a freak
You a little freak
Keep it lowkey
Would never know that you
Would
Would know that you a freak
Keep it lowkey
Every time she come around she poppin xo’s
Said she wanna throw that ass for a night show
Face down ass up
She get on that pole
Face down ass up they would never know
They would never know
Take take time on it
Ass so fat sat a glass of wine on it
Drop it down with the bass ooo
She said blow a big
Ima show you what this cake do
Typa shit we let em ask won’t speak
You a little freak
Keep it lowkey
Would never know that you a freak

You a little freak
Keep it lowkey
Would never know that you

Would know that you a freak
Keep it lowkey

Overall Meaning

The song "Art of Seduction" by Dee Gatti talks about a female who is confident with her sexuality but does not openly express it. The persona expresses that they have had experiences with others but they did not match up to this individual, who is not ranked second or third but at the very top. The persona compliments this individual for being a little freak but also being able to keep it lowkey, displaying a complex duality. Also, emphasis is given to the secretive and private nature of the relationship, not wanting others to know what is happening between them.

Moreover, the persona delves into the visual and sensual experience of being with this female. When she is around, she is the center of attention and leaves a lasting impression, seen in the line "Every time she comes around she poppin' xo's." The sexual nature of the song is amped up with the description of her "cake," and the dancing on the pole with "face down ass up." The line "they would never know" is repeated multiple times, heightening the secretive aspect of the persona's relationship with this female.

In the 90s this would be more Jodeci than Donell.

This is more for the people who watched music mature from the sounds of Jodeci (Jodeci was mixed with more of a pitched corrected sound than Donell Jones was) to eventually .. Drake, Party Next Door, Bryson Tiller, SZA, and Kaash Paige.

Put this type of mixed sound with Belly Inspired visuals. And voila.

You like a warmer more vintage sound. This is a colder , computer effects driven sound which is more prevalent in todays society.

Donell is more of a Neo soul stripped down acoustic sound recorded with warm tube amps and warm mics.

The “mumble“ isn’t a mumble , it’s just compressed vocals with a digital effect, called pitch correction (autotune) which changes notes sung, changing pronunciation unlike Donelle
.

(T Pain wish his autotune sounded this well blended. It’s all the growth of technology)

Sounds cool and it sells. It’s an evolution of the rnb genre. It’s alternative rnb.
