It was formed in 1980 in Wałbrzych under the name Bunt. It was changed to the current one two years later, after suicide of Fredek "Fred" Wójcik (bass) who was one of band's founder.
The new band consisted of Wojciech "Walec" Walczyk (vocal), Tomasz "Sivy" Wojnar (guitar), Dariusz "Picek" Pacek (bass) and Krzysztof "Heban" Migdał (drums).
Walczyk left the band after their first lives and Wojnar became the new vocalist. In 1988, when band went on a break, it still wasn't well recognizable.
They reactivated in 1990. They've earned some popularity due to their performances at Jarocin Festival.
In 1991, after all these years, Defekt Muzgó releases its first tape "Wszyscy jedziemy... ", recorded during their live in Wrocław.
After few more releases, around year 95 the drummer was replaced by Rysiek "Ricardo" Gus. It changed band's sound a lot.
Another activity break came in 1997 and lasted until January 2001. Band's line up was: Sivy, Heban & Bogdan "Victor" Kocik on bass.

Defekt Muzgó Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Możesz nas nie kochać
Prawdę tylko głupiec
Może ignorować
Ale fortuna kołem się toczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Możesz stanąć z boku
Posłuchać rozsądku
Nie zabierać głosu
I będziesz w porządku
Ale fortuna kołem się toczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Fortuna kołem się toczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
To jest takie łatwe
Tylko obserwować
Siedzieć cicho siedzieć
I nie ryzykować
Ale fortuna kołem się toczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Fortuna kołem się toczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
Kto się boi niech wyskoczy
The lyrics to Defekt Muzgó's song "Fortuna" touch upon the theme of taking risks, embracing uncertainty, and not being afraid to step out of one's comfort zone. The first verse conveys the idea that people may choose to either love or dislike the singer, but only a fool would ignore the truth. This can be interpreted as a message about the importance of acknowledging reality, even if it contradicts personal preferences or beliefs.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Fortuna kołem się toczy" which translates to "Fortune spins like a wheel." It suggests that luck and opportunity are constantly changing, highlighting the transient nature of fortune. The repeated line "Kto się boi niech wyskoczy", which means "Who is afraid, let them jump out," encourages listeners to face their fears and take bold actions, as those who are too afraid will miss out on the opportunities that life presents.
The second verse encourages listeners to listen to reason, stay on the sidelines, and be silent to maintain a sense of safety and order. This verse reflects the notion that sometimes people choose to not take risks and instead opt for a more conservative and cautious approach to life. However, the chorus repeats the message that fortune keeps spinning, reminding individuals that those who fear should be willing to take a leap of faith and step outside their comfort zone if they want to experience the rewards that come with taking risks.
The final verse emphasizes the ease of observing from the sidelines, remaining passive and not taking any risks. The lyrics imply that it is simpler and less challenging to be a spectator, keeping quiet and avoiding any potential failures or disappointments. However, the chorus reminds listeners that fortune continues to spin and encourages them once again to overcome their fear and embrace the unknown, as only by doing so can they truly experience the ups and downs that life has to offer. Overall, "Fortuna" serves as a reminder that taking risks and facing fears is an integral part of personal growth and seizing opportunities.
