The lyrics of Deftones' "Xerces" can be interpreted in many ways, but a common interpretation is that it is about leaving the Earth and the universe guiding us to wherever we're meant to go next. The first two lines "Universe surrounds, When you're ready, It waits" suggest that the universe is always present around us, but we need to be ready to move on. The following lines "For us to, To leave this earth, Come on, they're calling your name, Out" further suggest that we are being called to leave this earth and move on to the afterlife.
The chorus "Goodbye, Say Heaven, Know no one, I'll be waving" seems to be an acknowledgement of death and the unknown that comes with it. The lines "Goodbye, Reason to see, Everything looks the same, I don't know, If the change made was great, Cause the craving remains the same" suggest that even though we may not know what's next, there's a desire for change that remains the same.

Agreed. Personally, my top 3 albums were actually Koi No Yokan, Diamond Eyes, and Saturday Night Wrist. While Saturday isn’t as consistently pure bliss like the later 2 albums were, the standout tracks on SNW were some of the best in their discography. I really wish people appreciated this album more, and the same can be said for self titled as well with regards to appreciation

i think hole in the earth was kind of a bad choice for the single and the video for it is terrible. turned people off of the rest of the album, which has a lot of great tracks but doesn't quite have the perfect flow from start to finish that their other albums have. that said there's not really any track on SNW that i wouldn't want to see them play.
