Delerium feat. Aude Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Je me suis éprise
Je me suis ouverte
Je me suis offerte
A vous mon amant
Vous, mon courtisan
Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses
Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses
Et ma raison est aveuglée
Je me suis méfiée
Vous m'avez défiée
Je suis effondrée
Vous m'avez menti
Vous m'avez trahie
Vous m'avez meurtrie
Vous vous êtes enfui
Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses
Et ma raison est aveuglée
Mais j'ai senti tous les dangers
Quand vos deux mains se sont posées
Mais tout mon corps vous disait oui
Ce jour d'été, seuls à Paris
(Paris)
(Paris)
Vous m'avez aimée
Vous m'avez aimée
Vous m'avez blessée
Vous m'avez reniée
Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses
Et ma raison est aveuglée
Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses
Et ma raison est aveuglée
Mais j'ai senti tous les dangers
Quand vos deux mains se sont posées
Mais tout mon corps vous disait oui
Ce jour d'été, seuls à Paris
Paris
in Delerium feat. Aude's song is portrayed as a city of love and passion, with the lyrics capturing the tumultuous nature of a dangerous love affair. The opening lines describe how the singer was conquered by their lover and willingly opened themselves up to this person, referring to them as their courtier. However, throughout the song, the lyrics suggest the singer's heartache and betrayal from their lover, with the phrase "Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses" (our liaisons are dangerous) repeated throughout the chorus. Despite the dangers, the singer admits their body was telling them yes to this person, and they felt alive and free while alone with their lover in Paris.
The lyrics reveal a complicated love story with themes of passion, mistrust, and heartbreak. At times, the singer is empowered by their feelings, yet they are also deeply vulnerable and hurt. The overall atmosphere of the song is melancholic, with a sense of longing and regret. The repetitive chorus of "Nos Liaisons sont dangereuses" adds a sense of suspense to the song, almost like a warning of what is to come.

Lovely song! Great! I like all the Delerium-songs but this is really a special one.

What's funny is that the song itself is extremely beautiful, perhaps one of the most beautiful Delerium ever recorded. However, the lyrics are just as sad, even brutal. The singer is talking about how hurt she is over a brief affair in Paris, her memory of the uncaring man she was with colored by the city's romantic reputation.
