Normal Days
Denali Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hear the walk, if I speak
Turn it into codes
Break it through, through the wall
Bring it up to speed
Innocence drifts away passing through pains
Just one person in a million waiting for that day
To start and end the line
To pay it all on time

Overall Meaning

In Denali's song "Normal Days," the lyrics present an idea of communication being hindered by barriers, such as the need to code language and break through walls. The act of communication becomes something difficult, highlighting an idea of isolation and being unable to truly connect with others. The song mentions the idea of innocence drifting away as it passes through pain, which could be interpreted as an idea of becoming jaded and losing one's purity as they go through difficult experiences in life. In these moments, the lyrics suggest that people can become lost in a sea of millions, waiting for something to break through and make a change in their lives.

The song presents a sense of urgency, where people need to "start and end the line" and "pay it all on time." The latter is particularly interesting because it suggests a debt to be paid, potentially referencing a feeling of obligation or responsibility to others. It is easy to be overcome by difficulties and lose sight of what really matters in life. Perhaps Denali is suggesting that people need to work on being present in the moment, breaking through communication barriers, and paying attention to the important things in life.

Good name for a band, I was going to name my band this because of how much the movie "Into the Wild" moved me. The main character Christopher Johnson McCandless died in Denali, Alaska. And it means "the high one". But anyways you guys are really good, shit. lol
