Sea Of Doubt
Destra Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I'd been taken to anywhere like wind
With no hopes I used to live lookin'for the past
The fear of the future didn't leave me walk.
Sea of doubt waiting for nothing
Wasting the time living just for living
Sea of doubt so far of myself
This is the time from change the light goes to the darkness
This is the time to finish the sorrow
This is the time to keep the faith,
This is the time to trust in the promisse that can become
everything new
Forget the past and walk with someone who is more than winner!
Sea of doubt no more, no more, sea of doubt and you how far?
Sea of doubt no more, no more.
In "Sea of Doubt," Destra sings about a long period of feeling trapped and limited by invisible chains. Despite being blown aimlessly like wind, the singer resided in the past and was too scared to face the future. The sea of doubt is a metaphor for the feeling of hopelessness and uncertainty that oppressed the singer's life, leading them to waste time living just for living.
However, the chorus brings a shift in perspective, declaring that it is time to embrace change and move towards the light, away from the darkness. It calls for the end of the sorrow and encourages the listener to have faith and trust in the promise that everything can become new. The song concludes with a call to forget the past, abandon the sea of doubt and walk with someone who has become more than a winner.
With a message of hope and redemption, "Sea of Doubt" is a song about rising from the depths of despair to a place of newfound strength and courage. It acknowledges the difficulty in acknowledging one's limitations and moving forward in the face of uncertainty. Still, it also reminds us that growth is always possible, and that taking that step into the unknown can lead to a complete transformation.
