Flashdance
Diana Dewitt Lyrics

But a slow glowing dream
That your fear seems to hide
Deep inside your mind
All alone, I have cried
Silent tears full of pride
In a world made of steel
Well, I hear the music
Close my eyes, feel the rhythm
Wrap around, take a hold of my heart
What a feeling
Being's believing
I can have it all
Now I'm dancing for my life
Take your passion
And make it happen
Pictures come alive
You can dance right through your life
Now I hear the music
Close my eyes, I am rhythm
In a flash, it takes hold of my heart
What a feeling, being's believing
I can have it all
Now I'm dancing for my life
Take your passion
And make it happen
Pictures come alive
Now I'm dancing through my life
What a feeling
What a feeling (I am music now)
Being's believing (I am rhythm now)
Pictures come alive
You can dance right through your life
What a feeling (I can really have it all)
Being's believing
(Pictures come alive when I call)
I can have it all (I can really have it all)
Have it all (pictures come alive when I call)
(Call, call, call, call, what a feeling)
I can have it all (being's believing)
Being's believing (take your passion)
The lyrics of Diana Dewitt's song "Flashdance" speak about the power of music, dance, and believing in oneself. The singer tells the story of starting with nothing but a dream, hidden by fears, and gradually building the confidence to dance for her life. She speaks to the transformative power of music and the way it can take hold of one's heart and soul. She describes the feeling of being in the moment, with the rhythm and beat of the music taking over, as she dances through her life.

Yet, she perseveres and finds herself able to make her dreams come true. The overall message of the song is one of positivity, self-empowerment, and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Overall, the lyrics of "Flashdance" are a tribute to the power of music and dance to overcome obstacles in life and uplift the human spirit.

This song keeps the legacy of Irene Cara alive in the musical flashdance..when Alexandria is dancing before the panel of judges.the crowd is clapping and cheering on Alex as she dances across the stage.

This music is from my favorite compilation album "Magic Movie Hits" (1994). I thought that this was the only definite version for many years. I was going over the tags, and noticed the discrepancy with the artist and the copyright date of 1993. I'm surprised that this artist doesn't connect to almost any other music on Discogs.
I think this present version is a recent remastering from "Giorgio Moroder on the Groove Train" or similar modern compilation, where the song has been ultramaximized.
