I'll Try Something New
Diana Ross and the Supremes with the Temptations Lyrics

I will build you a castle with a tower so high, till it reach as the moon.
I'll gather melodies from birdies that fly, and compose you a tune.
Give you lovin' as warm as Mama's oven.
And if that don't do, then I'll try something new. (I'll try something new)

Oh, I will take you away with me as far as I can.
To Venus or Mars.
There we will love with your hand in my hand.
You'll be king of the stars.
Every day we can play on the Milky Way.
If that don't do.
I'll have to try something new. (I'll try something new)

I will bring you a flower from the floor of the sea...
(Yeah, to wear in your hair)

Thank you.
I'll do anything and everything to make you happy, boy.
To show you that I care... I care.

I'll pretend I'm jealous of all the fellas and if that don't do.
I'll try something new.

Ooo, something new. (I'll try something new)
I'll try something new. (I'll try something new)
Something new. (I'll try something new)
I'll try something new. (I'll try something new)
If that boy don't succeed, try again and then you'll see. (I'll try something new)
Something new. (I'll try something new)
Something new.

ROSS and KENDRICKS blended great

Diana's vocal is pure charm and energy.

I swear, I fell in love, literally, with Diana Ross when I heard this song.

JohnnyM Fan

yea she sounds so hot on the recording.

@John Anders Yes, and a big part of Curtis Mayfields sound and production style was partly due to his collaboration with orchestral arranger, and producer Johhny Pate, during Curtis' tenure as a front man for the Impreesions, and on the iconic "Superfly" movie soundtrack. Check it Out! Ciao!!!

John Anders

Strange thing about theese two groups was that kendricks and Ross did not have the best disc. When it came to collaborations. That distinction belongs to Jean Terrell and the great Levi Stubbs. With their rendition of River Deep Mountain High. Now Tina Turner version may sound even better. With Phill Spector enabling Tina along with that incredible Wall of Sound. Known as the Wrecking Crew. Who could give the Funk Brothers aa run for the money. In fact the Wrecking Crew and The Motown sound were the only two sounds along with what Curtiss Mayfield that could compete with the British Invasion.Which for aPeriod just dominated the charts. What a beautiful time for RandB and Rock.

Perfection on the part of everyone involved.
