Love Is All
Dick Haymes & Helen Forrest Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All My Love, I give you All My Love,
The skies may fall, my love
But I will still be true.
All my sighs will disappear at last,
Now that you're here at last,
My heart belongs to you.
Oh, don't you ever let me go,
You thrill me so.
I can see, as I recall my life,
I've waited all my life

To give you AL My Love.
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay,

So, you are re-listening to this
too! A true fellow
"addict!" (Google Dick Haymes &
Helen Forrest on

and LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING on Siufung
pun ch. And the
posting of YOU ARE TOO BEAUTIFUL on

for a comment you'll like. 😆😆)

@miltonmoore5294

In spite of their
obvious and unavoidable human frailties, it was wonderful that so many male singing and acting
"heart-throbs" existed during this
extraordinary by-gone era for women of all ages to become romantically fascinated with.
I pity the "fair sex"
for what they have to chose from today!
This incredibly beautiful love
ballad inspired my
comment. I have
been returning every day to listen
to it. This is an
immortal recording if there
ever was one. And
Helen Forrest of
course couldn't
have served better
as Haymes' duet
partner. I'll be back tomorrow for another listen, God willing.😃😃

@miltonmoore5294

I know you intended this as a
compliment, but
he had his own
distinct voice, and was
not an amalgam
of the vocalists you mentioned, or
any others. It's what made him
great, and all other
profoundly inimitable artists.
Respectfully.

I will never ever forget this song. During WWII when my Dad was away my Mom had to rent a small apartment over what was called a road house because of the housing shortage. Every weekend night soldiers from a local army post were in there playing this song over and over on the juke box and dancing with the local girls. I was only 7 or 8 years old but I learned all the words to this song. We couldn't get to sleep until way past midnight on weekend nights but at least the music was great. .

As an 8 year old lying in bed during the war in war torn Liverpool, England hearing this song, amongst others, soothed me to sleep.

G Combs. Your Dad will be 94 now, I’m 87 and going forward. We can look back and remember the good times and the women we loved. Ain’t it great to be old?
