The band's first full length release, Cause and Effect, released in 2007. “Whatever It Takes,” was the first single and it spent 45 weeks in rotation on Sirus/XM’s Octane 20, and got adds from KUPD, WWBN, WFXH, WPBZ, KXTE, KATT, KILO, KXXR, WZBH, WIIL, Cage Rattle Radio, and more. The second single “Disconnect,” also enjoyed similar success with over 40 national adds, Sirus/XM's Octane 20, WRIF, KSHE, and KUPD included.

The sold-out disc included 10 tracks recorded on-site at KUPD's End of Summer Scorcher by artists such as Sevendust, Cory Taylor of Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Tantric, Cavo, and DIGITAL SUMMER.
Following Cause and Effect, the band released the 2 disc EP/DVD set, Hollow. The DVD portion of the set included a music video for the song "Rescue Me." The the full video production included a scene of a car accident and featured both friends and co-workers of the band.
Digital Summer will issue their second full length album, Counting the Hours, in early May 2010. Counting the Hours was recorded in Phoenix with producer Larry Elyea (Jimmy Eat World, Eminem, Adelita's Way), and features guest performances by Morgan Rose from SEVENDUST. Just isn't good enough
This time there's nothing
You can do to change my mind
Inject the silence
Inject the silence
Inject the silence
Just to bring me peace
Break everything!
Break everything!
Break everything!
Break everything!
I'll do whatever it takes
To get you out of my life
I'll do whatever it takes
To just make you go away!
You've fallen
And I'm not about to pick you up
There's something
In your voice that makes me sick
So sick of the insults
So sick of the torment
So sick of everything
Break everything!
Break everything!
Break everything!
Break everything!
I'll do whatever it takes
To get you out of my life
I'll do whatever it takes
To just make you go away!
I'll do anything
(I'll do anything)
To get you away from me
I'll do anything
(I'll do anything)
To get you away from me!
I'll do whatever it takes
To get you out of my life
I'll do whatever it takes
To just make you go away!
I'll do whatever it takes
To get you out of my life
I'll do whatever it takes
To just make you go away!
Away!
The lyrics of Digital Summer's song "Whatever It Takes" is about a painful breakup and the realization that the relationship is no longer worth saving. The song is emotional and bitter as the singer expresses his anger towards his partner. The phrase "I'm sorry just isn't good enough," indicates that apologies are not enough to mend the broken relationship. The singer is determined to move on and "break everything" to get rid of any reminder of his partner. The phrase "Inject the silence just to bring me peace," suggests that the singer wants to eliminate any communication with his partner to find inner peace.
The chorus of the song, which repeats the same lines, "I'll do whatever it takes to get you out of my life, I'll do whatever it takes to just make you go away," shows the depth of the singer's despair and determination to end the relationship. The use of repetition emphasizes the intensity of the singer's feelings. The final line, "Away!," is a final plea for his partner to leave and never come back.
Digital Summer's "Whatever It Takes" is a relatable song about the pain of a breakup, and the emotions that come with it. It conveys the message of moving on and letting go, no matter how hard it may be.
