Magic Carpet Ride
Disney (Aladin) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I like to dream
Yes yes, right between the sound machine
On a cloud of sight, I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right

Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here
You don't know what we could find
Why don't you come with me little girl on a magic carpet ride?
You don't know what we could see

Why don't you tell your dreams to me?
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl, look inside girl, let the sound take you away
Last night I held Aladdin's lamp, so I wished that I could stay
Before the thing could answer me well someone took, took the lamp away

I looked around a lousy can was all I found
You don't know what we could find
Why don't you come with me little girl on a magic carpet ride?
You don't know what we could see

Why don't you tell your dreams to me?
Fantasy will set you free

Close your eyes girl, look inside girl, let the sound take you away
You don't know what we could find
Why don't you come with me little girl on a magic carpet ride?
You don't know what we could see

Why don't you tell your dreams to me?
Fantasy will set you free
You don't know what we could find
Why don't you come with me little girl on a magic carpet ride?
You don't know what we could see

Why don't you tell your dreams to me?

Fantasy will set you free
You don't know what, you don't know what, you don't know what

Aladdin is a terrific film that deserves way better than this...

in my opinion disney could have made a way better ride out of the concept of aladdin. there should be a magic carpet ride similar to soarin over california so you can feel like you are flying on a carpet around the arabian night.

The Be Sharp

@altarush Mature adults in control of their emotions don't get offended by things. Remember, offense is "taken", not given. (Following the Koran literally, nothing in Disneyland would be allowed: the music, the women without headscarves, the 'graven images' that are the statues of Mickey Mouse or animatronics of people, the meat food. Basically no fun at all is allowed that might distract the faithful from mindlessly following whatever self-appointed cleric is claiming to speak on behalf of God.)

I agreed and have it in Morocco or part way from the tropical settings since it is in Desert setting. They should have put this ride in Middle Eastern setting near Africa in the Animal kingdom , not in an area based on the Caribbean or Hawaii. It is adventure land, but it is surprisingly people aren’t offended by tikis among people who are supposed to be followers of Islam.
