The moonlight it was dancing
The moonlight was reflecting off the waves and appeared to be dancing.

On the waves, out on the sea
The waves were crashing on the sea.

The stars of heaven hovered
The stars in the sky were shining brightly.

In a shimmering galaxy
The stars together formed a beautiful galaxy in the sky.

A voice from down the ages
A voice from long ago.

So in haunting in its song
The voice was very eerie and melancholy.

These ancient stones will tell us
The stones from an ancient time have a story to tell.

Our love must make us strong
The power of love must be strong within us.

The breeze it wrapped around me
The wind enveloped me.

As I stood there on the shore
As I was standing on the beach.

And listened to this voice
I was listening intently to the voice.

Like I never heard before
As if I was hearing it for the first time.

Our battles they may find us
We may encounter battles or struggles.

No choice may ours to be
We may not have a choice in the matter.

But hold the banner proudly
We should stand up for what we believe in.

The truth will set us free
The truth will give us our freedom.

My mind was called across the years
My thoughts were wandering through time.

Of rages and of strife
Of all the conflict and struggles throughout history.

Of all the human misery
Of the pain and suffering experienced by humankind.

And all the waste of life
Of all the lives lost in vain.

We wondered where our God was
We questioned the existence of a higher power in times of turmoil.

In the face of so much pain
During times of great suffering and hurt.

I looked up to the stars above
I looked to the skies for answers.

To find you once again
To rediscover love and hope.

We travelled the wide oceans
We journeyed across the vast oceans.

Heard many call your name
We heard many people use your name, possibly referring to God.

With sword and gun and hatred
Many people used violence and hate while invoking your name.

It all seemed much the same
All the killing and destruction appeared to be the same.

Some used your name for glory
Some people used your name to seek fame and recognition.

Some used it for their gain
Others used your name for their own personal gain.

Yet when liberty lay wanting
However, when freedom was in need.

No lives were lost in vain
No lives were wasted or lost purposelessly.

Is it not our place to wonder
Is it not our duty or responsibility to question the world around us?

As the sky does weep with tears
As the rain falls and the sky appears to be crying.

And all the living creatures
And all the animals and plants.

Look on with mortal fear
Look on with fear of their own mortality.

It is ours to hold the banner
It is our duty to stand up for what we believe in.

Is ours to hold it long
It is our duty to carry on that belief for a long time.

It is ours to carry forward
It is our duty to continue that belief into the future.

And as the warm wind carried
As the gentle breeze carried the song.

Its song into the night
The song carrying into the darkness of the night.

I closed my eyes and tarried
I closed my eyes and lingered there for a moment.

Until the morning light
Until the light of a new day.

As the last star it shimmered
As the last star slowly disappeared.

And the new sun's day gave birth
And the new sun began to rise and bring a new day into being.

It was in this magic moment
It was in this very special moment.
