Die Geburtsstunde der sächsischen Progressive Deather von Divine X geht auf… Read Full Bio ↴Die Geburtsstunde der sächsischen Progressive Deather von Divine X geht auf den Herbst 2004 zurück, als sich die Gitarristen Daniel (Ex-Fangorn) und Eric sowie Drummer Felix (beide zuvor bei Toracity) dazu entschlossen, ihre musikalischen Vorstellungen gemeinsam umzusetzen. Wenig später komplettierte Tieftöner Olli das Line-Up, ehe die Band ihren ersten Live-Auftritt beim Bandcontest des Dresdner Metalclubs Skullcrusher absolvierte.
Erst kurz vor dem ersten Gig einigten sich die Jungs auf den Namen Divine X, konnten aber bereits bei ihrer Live-Premiere einen Triumph einfahren: das Quartett setzte sich mit einem Instrumental-Set gegen fünf weitere, lokale Formationen durch und gewann drei Tage Aufnahmezeit im Virtuos Vibes Studio.
Es galt also nur noch ein Problem vor der ersten CD zu bewältigen: einen geeigneten Sänger für das atmosphärische, vertrackte Material finden. Fünf Wochen, bevor es ins Studio gehen sollte, besetzte Stefan die vakante Position am Mikro. Vom 29.10.2005 bis 31.10. 2005 nahm das Quintett ihr erstes Demo 'The Other Side' auf, das vier Tracks mit einer Gesamtspielzeit von reichlich 23 Minuten aufweist und die ganz eigene Interpretation von Death Metal der Band beinhaltet. Die Songs wandeln zwischen technischen Anspruch, melancholisch dunklen Melodien sowie Moshparts, vereinen dabei die Attribute vielschichtig, abwechslungsreich und emotional.

Snuggled up in bed, put my earphones in and listened to your relaxing soothing voice that's like warm honey dripping off the tongue. Think I got about 15 minutes in, before I was sucking up the pillow again. Woke up an hour an a half later, refreshed and ready to bake some bread, record and write some music and take on the rest of the day.
