Adultery was released in 2006 through Rotten Records, as their 6th studio album (5th, if you don't include the extremely limited release of Erotic Massage and their live album, The City is Alive Tonight). Baltimore’s Dog Fashion Disco call it “Movie Metal” and have not only outdone themselves, but have created a concept record to fold, spindle, and mutilate all of the aural senses. Adultery delves into the life of an ordinary suburban family man and walks you through his folding to his own dark demons. Lock Quentin Tarantino, Charles Bukowski and Humphrey Bogart in a room with guitars, drums and a few bottles of Absinthe and what you would find closely resembles the genius of Adultery.
Dog Fashion Disco released a statement on their myspace on the 5th Of December 2006, stating that they were calling the end of their run. Their "final" show was played on January 13, 2007, although since then they have "reunited" on multiple occasions for Polkadot Cadaver shows to play some songs.
Todd Smith, Jasan Stepp and John Ensminger of Dog Fashion Disco moved onto their project Polkadot Cadaver, and have released one album and have another one in the works thus far. The style of Polkadot Cadaver is similar to DFD in many ways.
In 2014, DFD decided that being broken up was dumb, and started an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for a new album. The fans ponied up in a big way, and the band raised just over $85,000. With that amount of money being raised, DFD are able to record 2 albums, make a big budget video, and do a small tour of the U.K., for the first time in a long while. The new album, Sweet Nothings, is being released July 22nd, 2014 via Rotten Records.
Their latest album is 'Experiments in Embryos', released July 7th, 2018, through RazorToWrist is available through the Apple music, Spotify, Amazon, and iTunes.
Plastic Surgeons

The credits fade into unconscious movements
Nasuea and seizures the plot twists and turns
Purge now young starlit your contract's expired
You Hollywood doll
You Hollywood doll
As the sands of time fall inside the hour glass
A fountain of youth is a fairy tale of lies
As if it came as a surprise
You Hollywood doll
You Hollywood doll
would you like a new face to face a new day
It seems the mirror is your worst enemy
For I am Christ to the shallow and aging
A plastic surgeon to the stars of old
vaudevillian vanity a mansion in the hills
Tinseltown pigskin on celluloid film
A golden age aging in pacific time
Predicting the future three hours behind
You Hollywood doll
You Hollywood doll
Would you like a new face to face a new day
It seems the mirror is your worst enemy
For I am Christ to the shallow and aging
A plastic surgeon to the stars of old
I want to lick your leather skin
I want to suck your outside in
I want to watch you mutate
Into a statue of stone
Would you like a new face to face a new day
It seems the mirror is your worst enemy
For I am Christ to the shallow and aging
A plastic surgeon to the stars of old
For I am Christ to the shallow and aging
A plastic surgeon to the stars of old
The song "Plastic Surgeons" by Dog Fashion Disco is a commentary on the obsessive and unhealthy pursuit of youth and beauty in Hollywood. The opening lines describe the image of watching a movie on "satin eyelids," implying that the Hollywood starlet is choosing to ignore reality and live in a world of fantasy. The "credits fade into unconscious movements" suggests that the actress is losing touch with reality and becoming increasingly consumed by her own image. The nausea and seizures that follow represent the physical toll of this lifestyle.
The chorus refers to the Hollywood starlet as a "doll," emphasizing her objectification and the fact that she is molded and manipulated to fit a certain image. The line "you measure success by every inch that's in your ass" speaks to the idea that beauty is solely physical and is achieved through plastic surgery and other cosmetic procedures. The line "a fountain of youth is a fairy tale of lies" is a direct commentary on the industry's obsession with youth and the lengths people will go to maintain it.
The second verse introduces the idea of plastic surgeons as the gatekeepers of youth and beauty. The line "For I am Christ to the shallow and aging, a plastic surgeon to the stars of old" speaks to their power and influence over the industry. The bridge describes the Hollywood lifestyle as one of excess and vanity, with references to mansions, pigskin, and celluloid film. The repeated chorus emphasizes the main message of the song, that the pursuit of youth and beauty is ultimately fruitless and destructive.

“We are very proud to have accomplished our goal of completely re-claiming the rights to our old albums from Spitfire, Artemis and Rotten Records (except for Adultery - which will never be touched). It has taken a while and we've certainly gotten a lot of questions and criticism, and that's ok. The reason that we made new versions of all of these albums was so we could put them on streaming sites, and make them available to all. If people like what we do and want to buy a shirt, or share our music with a friend that's all we can ask for. The new version of Committed was a blast to make and we think fans of the original will love it, and maybe these new versions will reach some new folks who might want to be a part of the island of misfit toys.
If you want to support our efforts you can order the new album along with great merch at https://razortowrist.com
