Brew this stuff in a reservoir with active aeration (like you see at 2:00) and it works FANTASTIC! Especially when you add fresh Worm Castings + Compost + Humus (fungal dominate, like CA Humus or GO Ancient Forest) = VERY HAPPY PLANTS!

If you don't top dress your soil, and instead aerate and brew the tea into a liquid form, how do you know your plants are all getting what they need?

Do you do a normal feeding amount (like with water), just with the brewed tea instead?

Nervous over here. This is my first year of growing, and flowering is just starting. The BLOOM schedule is online, but it doesn't make sense to me. I've been using the terp tea GROW by brewing in liquid form and it has worked out great so far, just a little nervous for flower. Want to make sure my plants are getting the right amount.

@nameisEmery Well, ideally I would recommend that you do both, top dress and brew into a tea. When you brew a product like Terp Tea, properly (with LOTS of aeration, like you see at 2:00 into this video), you're essentially dissolving all of the water soluble elements into a solution, as well as cultivating/growing the microbiology (if you add worm castings & or compost that is). So not only are you multiplying the beneficial biology by brewing into a tea, you're also increasing the CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity) and nutrient cycling (chelating process). If you were getting good results by brewing the Terp Tea Grow, then I would recommend doing the same thing with the Bloom. I highly recommend that you check out two books: Teaming With Microbes & Teaming With Nutrients. You'll have a much better understanding of the symbiotic relationship between soil microbes and the plants, as well as Micro & Macro nutrients in general.

@William C83 I was actually just doing some research and those books are ones that I will be picking up! This is all super interesting, and while I'm just getting my feet wet with everything, I can honestly say I know so much more now than when this all started in May, and a big reason is due to people like you who describe in great detail and help so much. I will continue to learn and delve into more of the micro side of things as I go.

One more question .. if I do both top dressing and teas with the terp tea (when i brew, I use 2 5 gallon buckets and aerate the water for about a day to aerate the water and remove chlorine before adding the terp tea- I then aerate that for a day as well), does the recommended amount of terp tea in the top dress feeding schedule sound right to you? They say to add 1 TBSP of the dry tea to a 10-20 gallon container a week, skipping the second and third week of bloom.

Should I continue with one liquid terp tea feeding a week, and just add the 1 TBSP a week as well? Should I skip the week 2 and 3 for the liquid terp tea as well?

@nameisEmery Make sure your plants aren't getting TOO MUCH nutrient mix. Are they looking all green and happy without any droopy leaves, spots, yellowing or burnt tips? Depending on what your soil mix and nutrient load is like, you might not need to do much feeding into flower. However, flower is the most critical time so keep a close eye on your plants. Top dressing a couple tablespoons into the top of your plant delivers nutes slower than making tea, which will feed very quickly and also (with the help of some fresh worm castings) possibly give the microbiology a boost as well. Personally I transplant a few times into progressively stronger soil mixes and add VERY LITTLE nutrient to the soil AFTER planting or transplanting. I'd rather wait until the plant tells me it needs something than overdo it. For my TEA, I generally use mostly fresh worm castings and a little live compost with unsulphered molasses mixed into rainwater. This delivers mainly microbiology to the roots, allowing them to work together to get the nutes that are ALREADY in the soil to the plant. I generally mix the terp tea in as a dry amendment when I'm getting ready to cook my soil a month or two before planting. But I do add a spike of Bloom to the outer edge of my planter when I switch over to flower.

Loving your line of Terp Tea products! Can I add Cal Mag to a brew, and if so is there a certain stage to do this in?
For example in the beginning of the brew, or when the tea is done brewing then add the Cal Mag before applying to the plants? Thanks!

Roots Organics

That is great to hear. Yes you can brew cal mag with the terp teas

jumpa42

@Rootsorganics does terp tea bloom require brewing or can it also be mixed and fed directly without brewing?

Geeky Grower

@Roots Organics loving your stuff. I'm running the Master Soul feeding schedule. I was wanting to make some extra bloom booster tea. How long can the extra tea be stored in fridge? Is 1 week ok? Will the benies die if refrigerated that long?
