Am I blue
Am I blue
Ain't these tears
In these eyes tellin' you
Am I blue
You'd be too
Done fell through
Was a time I was her only one
But now I'm the sad and lonely one
Lonely one
Was I gay
'Til today
Now she's gone and we're through
Am I blue
Was a time I was her only one
But now I'm the sad and lonely one
Lonely one
Was I gay
'Til today
Now she's gone and we're through
Am I blue
In this song, Domino is expressing his emotions of sadness and loneliness after going through a breakup with his girlfriend. He is questioning whether he appears blue to others, and the tears in his eyes serve as proof of his emotional state. The use of the word "blue" is symbolic of the feeling of sadness or depression.
The first verse highlights the disappointment that comes when plans with someone you love do not work out. In the second verse, Domino reminisces about a time when he was happy with his girlfriend, but now he is left to feel the heartbreak of being alone. The repetition of the question "Am I blue?" emphasizes the emotions of uncertainty and introspection that come with a break-up.
